So sad but it sounds like he didn't have much quality of life left.

I read that the other day and remember reading and hearing about him when i was just getting into horses. and i watched him on tv many times and was amazed with his ability and his accomplishments. Truly one of the greatest that used natural methods and the horses ability to want to please. no rough training or cruel methods... he will be missed.

So sad but it sounds like he didn't have much quality of life left. Perhaps not but it is possible that he did all things considered. Sure Alzheimer is different than the Dementia that my mom has but perhaps he had also let go of his standards and expectations that clouded over appreciating the little things and relationships with his family which are anything but little. I dunno. Hope so anyway. Old age has a way of changing our minds about what's important anyway.
