I came home at 1:00pm for lunch and Pearl was eating hay beside Nemo. When I came home after 3:00pm I started mowing the field behind the lot Pearl is in. I was a little over half done mowing when I see Pearl standing with a foal nursing. I shut the two of them in and checked the foal and found we have another filly. Dixie is kicking names around so I will have to wait to post a name. This little girl is smaller than Trixie. Here they are.

So cute! How many more are you expecting? This is it! Our stamina here is on the decline. I had planed on three mares being bred in July. I am starting to have second thoughts if I want to keep the mares to see how health things go or sell them bred. Dang old age wasn't suppose to creep up like this when I'm having fun.

Dixie came out for the first when I was shutting up Pearl and he foal and snapped a picture when Pearl was not wanting to come to me. She was really not moving very fast. I was out of the picture but not by much and Pearl didn't want me to take hold of her halter. I had the food pail and dumped a few kernels on the ground to Nemo and she pushed him away and eat it. I walked in the shelter and put a hand full in her dish and she came right in with the foal at her side.

She sure is cute.. and i am sure a great name will be chosen.. she has almost the same markings.. like a ice cream sandwich with the vanilla in the middle. and i feel for you. since my stallion died a year ago february, i am not having any more foals. and my mares are old and no one would want them at this age. sooooo i will keep them until they are gone and not replace them at all. yes life is causing me to get those aches and pains. and slowing me down... hubby too.

Dixie named her Princess Arabella with her to be called Bella. She is 18 inches and fat. She seems much smaller than 18 inches though. I didn't have a rule with me and stood beside her and marked my pant leg with a pen. I might have pushed down in the bedding a bit. I keep forgetting to take a rule up with me. Coco does not pay any attention to me when I am holding and rocking Trixie but after Pearl gets done eating she stands close to me with her eyes really wide open. This is the first day though. When I get out of the shelter Pearl does reach out for me to rub her forehead.
