A friend of mine is a fantastic baker. everything she makes is just mouth watering.I was teasing her yesterday about her lemon bars and lo and behold she made some and posted her recipe on fb. she brought down a pan of them and i and hubby ate them all. buttery. lemony and crumy meaning crumbs on your shirt. easy to make and will disappear fast. 1 cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 cups flour 1 1/4 cup oatmeal. not quick oats. juice of 3 lemons about 1/2 cup zest of two lemons zest of one orange 1 can sweetened condensed milk cream butter and sugar. add flour and oatmeal to make soft dough. set aside. stir juice and zest into the milk set aside.butter a 13 x 9 inch pan and press 2/3 of dough into pan spread milk mixture over the crust.sprinkle the remaining dough over the top and in 350 oven 30-35 minutes until golden. cool and cut into small squares. .
