I would steer clear of him.. he sounds like the type person who could come after you in a heartbeat. i would not get involved in the site either.. i have a qh and he has no papers. so let him come after me for saying the horse is grade. i would not sell an ant to that person.

Some people have no better things to do in life. So many good horses without papers, simply because previous owners did not care to register them or their papers got lost etc. So if a horse does not have a peace of paper with breed written on it, does not mean that blood does not run tru his body.

Y'all, he must be nuts or something! He posted on a different group that I had posted Apollo on. I must have been living under a large rock my entire life since I never knew that it was a piece of paper that made a horse an Appaloosa! My mind is blown! (Being entirely sarcastic here)

I posted a picture of a woman's comments to him right under it. Did it show?

It posted but I couldn't get it to show up bigger. But I saw it on FB after I posted here. I would bet those two are friends - I'd like to hear others opinions as well as I can't believe, especially around here, that the majority agrees with him.

Here where I live we would sort this out in one sentence. Sometimes I think you Amerikans are to polite people. I see how you argue in a polite manner and I like that. But in this situation, I would cut the crap and tell this person to mind his buisness and not to stick his nose where it should not supose to be. Your friking horse, you feed it, your add, your buisness.

I think the guy was being pointlessly irritating. He has some sort of an issue with it, obviously. The fact is that if I have a registered quarter horse and I've lost the papers that horse still came out of the parents it did, I just can't prove it. Not having proof does not make the horse become no longer a quarter horse. When I've seen ads that say a horse is registerable and the horse is over a certain age I get annoyed. It's very difficult and expensive to register an older horse. But someone saying a horse is a quarter horse when it is, is the right thing to do, I think. The horse is a quarter horse, he's not a grade. A grade is like saying my dog is a mutt because I have no idea what it is. But if I breed two dogs of a certain breed together the resulting puppy is that breed. You didn't say your horse was a registered quarter horse so there's no deception.
I wish I could read some of the responses. I wonder how many people agreed with him. If they knew how confrontive he'd been they might have told him he was being inappropriate.
Right now on a horse sellers page we have for our area there's a big controversy going on because a woman advertised her young horse as a blue roan. In the pics the horse is clearly a bay roan. A few people commented about it and said she was wrong. She got very argumentive and would not back down. Now people are posting about it and some are angry that the seller was basically shamed in public for 'making a mistake'. To me, making a mistake is describing your bay roan as a blue roan. Arguing with everyone who corrects you is not making a mistake.
Anyway, the guy that did that was being a troll and a jerk. You handled him very well. I'm not sure I could have been so diplomatic.
