Here is my receipe for the easter pizza rustica that i posted on fb.. it is easy just needs prep. put together and . than enjoy hot. or cold or microwaved warm.. crust two cups of flour makes enough crust for one pie. 4 tbs spoons butter or margarine. i mix it 2 tsp baking powder spinkle with salt 2 tbs sugar 2 eggs i mix this in a food processor and it will be dry. than i put a tbls of water and mix.. if still dry add more water. than mix until dough pulls away from the bowl.. mix on a board for a few turns with flour than let rest covered. for the filling 1 1/2 pound of ricotta cheese 1/4 pound of salami 1/4 pound of procuitto 1/2 pound of mozzorella 4 large eggs lots of pepper and salt not alot especially since the procuitto is salty i also add sugar because it counteracts the salt nicely cut the meats at the deli a little thicker than you would want for a sandwich say double thickness and than cut into cube shapes. mix all of this together. and let sit.. i make it hours before and keep in the fridge. seems to allow flavors to combine. roll out 1/2 the dough for bottom crust that i put into a greased and floured pan put the filling in and than top with top crust. roll edges and crimp to seal with a fork and put into the top air holes so the crust does not bubble at 360 degree oven until top crust sounds hollow when tapped. than brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with colored sprinkes continue baking until nice and shiney perhaps another 15 minutes. total baking time should be over an hour ..

I was telling Betty about this today. She didn't think she remembered having it. I'm pretty sure my mom never made it. I'm glad you posted the recipe.

Not a lamb meat lover...
I have a spiral ham to cook with scalloped potato with fresh asparagus and string beans {hubby is not fond of asparagus, "good" more for me!} A fresh fruit salad I made for dessert...
We are now though preparing to go for a family trail ride this beautiful morning...
Delicious food will wait till later!!

hl4l - I hope you had a great trail ride! The weather here yesterday was beautiful.
I think I may have had lamb once. I don't remember not liking it but for me it is like eating veal...I just can't do it. I know, with the beef and pork and chicken that I eat, those animals are treated any better. If I liked more vegetables, I would probably become a vegetarian; as things are now, I would starve.
On a side note, I was watching reruns of the Great British Baking Show on Netflix last night and one of the Victorian recipes they had to make was a game meat pie. They looked very similar to yours HL.
