My husband got me one for Valentines and I love it! mini-graphics-valentine-940295 The only thing so far that I am disappointed with is I can't pressure can in it. Right now I'm experimenting and have no real recipe to share but the foods are so yummy I feel like I would be lost without it.
The latest food I've tried is hard boiled eggs. The shell falls right off! No more struggling to shell them. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that foods cook so much faster so I tend to cook my food too much like my noodles.
Has anyone here used a pressure cooker?

My mom had one..used it for so many meals. Time saver and enhanced the flavors of foods. You could use a "cheaper", tougher cut of meat and it still was fork tender.
I remember using it to make homemade chicken soup...the bones literally fell apart..the carcass disintegrated just about.
I do know personally of a lady who did not use her pressure cooker correctly and was hit in the head by the top weight. That is not a fairy tale but truth it will blow off!! Nearly killed her, fractured her skull and left a sizeable "dent" in her forehead forever.
I had a pressure cooker... Didn't use it enough the gasket dried out...then it became a great everyday pot. I can't get a replacement gasket either....
Be careful you follow directions and safety measures to the letter. smileys-home-474322

I had a used one years ago (before the internet) and didn't quite know what to do with it. I never would have thought of eggs. I suppose now there are plenty of websites dedicated to cooking with them. There wasn't a lot of information around then, and my kids were little so had no time to really check into it. I used it a few times then it ended up in my tag sale.
Maybe today they are built safer, but the top blowing off did worry me.
From what I remember, what I did cook with it was great. I imagine my crock pot would do the same just take much longer. But then the whole point of the pressure cooker is to cook faster and tenderer at the same time.
Good luck with it!

How's it going with the pressure cooker? Last night when I was up at 4am , there was an infomercial on them, but it was just ending. I was interested to see how they have changed and what they were making. I'm sure I'll get another chance to check them out.

I have seen those infomercials and they do make the pressure cooker look easy and the food fantastic. I was thinking of getting a slow bbq cooker. to make brisket and chicken .. sloooooowwwww cooked.
