Took Molly to the vet to get her nails cut back. Since she won't let me do it or 2 people holding her. So I go to pick her up and the vet comes out to tell me that before they could get her sedated that she bit the vet on the finger and got the vet tech in the fore arm. Plus they had to give her extra shots to knock her completely out. So they asked me when she had her last rabies shot and I told them. They were just concerned that if she didn't have any that they didn't want to have go through getting shots. I told them this morning that I didn't know her history as she is a rescue. So they should have taken the precaution.
When the vet tech went to take her back to the kennels you could see the fear in her. I never thought that she would bite anyone. But she did. So next time if she needs vet treatment I will tell them to muzzle her. That there is a chance that she may snap at them. She was happy to see me but she is still not happy.

When they realized Molly was a bit agressive they should have muzzled her right away, and if she was having her toes done they why did they want her left there for hours.?/ hope she is ok and the trust she has in you shows. a rescue is hard to figure out. one minute friendly the next everyone is running. Poor molly .

Her nails grow so fast that they took them all the way down and cautherized (sp) them. So I took her in at 8am and picked her up at 3. Plus had a few other things done. But even when Lint & I did them she screamed bloody murder and it took all he could do to hold her. With him on the road I can't do them and even with Lint holding her and me cutting them I never could get them short enough because Molly thought she was being tortured. Who ever did what they did to this dog should be shot! You couldn't even touch her feet or tail when I got her but now I can pull on her tail without getting bit. So maybe next time she has to go I will ask the vet if I can stay with her until they knock her out. She is fine and resting in her recliner. She did go out and feed the horses with me. She could be dying but if the Wench starts up she is in the passenger seat.
The first vet I took her to, to get nails trimmed seen what she was capable of. The 2nd time he did give her a shot to knock her down some. But it didn't work so well. So I went to the other vet and told them that I wanted the nails taken down and that they would have to knock her out to do it. She has never did what she did today. I don't think she is so much aggressive but was more scared to death. The vet is great. So we both learned something today.

She was so scared for her life that she decided to bite. Poor Molly , must have been a nightmare for her.

Ming... With her fear as it is, why has the vet not given you a tranq to give her when getting any scheduled vet work done? You will be the one to need to muzzle her not the vet or LVT.... So sad what someone did to her to make her fearful... Our Ashley was a rescue, a pup though... She does not like her feet handled, barely tolerates it. She will lay her teeth on me in warning but has yet to bite...and gets in trouble for it! She is better today than she was but dislikes anyone messing with her feet...maybe they are terribly ticklish?
Be careful Molly doesn't bite you when you need to muzzle her, hence feed her the tranq on that day.

I can just about do anything to Molly I want to. She has nipped at me but that was when I first got her. We didn't know that she would be so aggressive. But the vet and I discussed that the next time I will muzzle her and stay with her until she is knocked out. I have never given a dog a tranq. But will ask the vet the next time about it. All is good.
