Hi, my name is Conversano Gaetana, that is my registered name, but I hope I will soon have a name that fits me better. My people say I have a very unique color for a Lipizzaner and although they wish me to stay like this, they say I am beautiful no matter what. I was born early in the morning and caught everybody by suprise, I am still unsure on my legs and wish to slepp all the time, but I have to stay up and show how pretty I am to everyone who comes to see me. My mommy is very protective over me, I think she doesn't have to be like that, because a girl said to my ear I will be always loved and taken care of     |

He (she?) sure is a lucky little foal to have someone like you around to look after him.
I hope he keeps his colour (I have a bit of a chestnut addiction), but even if he doesn't I'm sure he will be stunning.

He is full of spirit and joy He does nibble on me already, I don't know why he does that, and it is intensive, when ever I am around him he will suck on my clothes and nibble it. He does not bite, but use his mouth a lot. Never had that kind of behaviour in a foal until now. He is not timid like most foal what is normal in such young age when they arestill very bonded with their mothers. He is outgoing and brave and does nibble. I am not sure how to correct such a young horse or should I correcte him at all. I noticed his mother bites him when she nurse him also, so I gues he nibbles a lot on her tits as well. He is a little devil for sure. |

Yes, that is cute to feel their gums sucking on your fingers. real cute. BUT wait until he is 800 pounds with a mouth full of teeth and it will not be cute any longer. if he were jumping up on you what would you do?? push him away and say no.. and mean it. if he continues than a quick tap will give him the idea. after all his mother does not like it. a friend had a colt like Rubin he was allowed to put his legs on the shoulders and give  ... real nice until the colt was 600 pounds.. she gave him to us to break the habit and hubby took care of that in 3 sessions. he never reared up on people again.BUT biting and sucking on humans is not as easy to stop. remember any behavior he is doing now that could possibly injure a human or him later is not acceptable behavior. he is soooo cute .. hard to resist i know. |
