I'm not really trying to get into one of "those" discussions as this is more of a vent.
Gerald just has to "save money" buying cheaper dog food. So no he's changing Codie-man's food that worked just fine! Better than more expensive stuff in fact. Our vet said it was good and I researched it and found out that ALL of the ingredients are sourced, processed and sold in the USA. That some "natural" or "less processed" or whatever foods could NOT guarantee that the ingredients didn't come from China.
I was trying to explain that just because it says, just as an example, chicken meal, doesn't need to list the ingredients used to process it into meal. And that's assuming that the source processed the meal, it could have bought the meal, done something else to it and still doesn't have to list processing ingredients or methods for that matter. And that processing or those additional ingredients COULD come from China, could be hazardous. You don't know, you may never know.
So naturally Gerald got all pissy with me, said he'd "look it up on the internet". Listen I've been doing the research for years but bottom line OUR VET SAID IT'S GOOD FOOD and the manufacturer is TRUSTWORTHY. They've been in business for years and years and have a very good history in regard to recalls.
Sure, sure one way or another a person could bring an argument that because of such and so this other food is better. But I worry, I get those recall notices and there are some big names on it for treats too.
So then he stopped talking to me. I'm going out of town on training for the next three days so I said I'd call him in a couple days. Like I don't have a cell phone and can't call him from anywhere, I am so miffed that this MAN can't take what I tell him, that we discussed at length and agreed on but a few dollars are going to undo all of that and risk our dog's health. JUST PISSES ME OFF! I told him if it was money I'd pay for the food!
