I bought one and LOVE it,., actually. I have a heated water bucket but just wanted to see whether these were something good to have around (just in case). I used it in the barn, these past 2-3 days, with temps well below freezing and it worked great! After 20 hours of 10 degree weather, it had the slightest, very thin layer of ice - this morning - that I broke thru with a tap of my finger. Also, did not use the top cover that came with it and it still kept the water from freezing. Just wrapped the insulated bucket cover around the bucket. 5 stars!

Interesting,, i will have to look into getting a couple of them especially for my stallions that are inside most winter months. i have bucket heaters and tank heaters but those bucket covers seem like it will keep their water from freezing in the stalls.

Wonder if it could work in reverse and keep water from becoming to hot to drink as can happen down here....

I ordered mine from SmartPak bc I get monthly supplements,., I got a bit of a discount since I have a SP acct, plus free shipping as it came with my regular order. ^ That was a small incentive to try one out

Good info. I may have to try them next winter after I get stalls in. One day it will have electric...But not a big need.

I have water drinkers in my stall, and they don't freeze. But for someone who live in colder parts this is very helpful.
