Well until today I would have agreed with you! It has been a beautiful January, especially last weekend. Today however, the highs did not get over 44 with wind chills in the 30s (and gale force winds).

We are in the 20' s with wind chill of 11. I talked to my MD bff and they have 5 inches of and changed over to sleet with wind gust of 60mph. Suppose to quit snowing until tomorrow afternoon. Glad I'm in Missouri!! The storm of 78 was 22 inches in 1 night. I had just bought a new car and it was buried in . I couldn't get out of my trailer because of drifts. My neighbor walked through waist deep to get my door opened. I don't miss that kind of weather.
Be safe Redzip!!!

I miss the ....seriously.I miss the beauty and peacefulness of watching it fall. I miss walking in freshly fallen to the barn to be greeted by the horses waiting to eat, turning them out to play in the "white stuff". I don't miss the clearing and cleaning up of it that needs done. I don't miss the filthy appearance of it once plowed and road dirt and debris now scar its beauty... I just spoke with my sister on Long Island...they are hunkered down with a forecast of 12"-24", frigid cold and high winds making it a "blizzard condition".I will take my 45*, winds sustained at 30mph and gusts to near 50.... cold for us and a 40* drop since yesterday. I have winter blankets on the horses and they are happy in them {Got a nasty look when I took it off to groom}...Be safe all of you in the weathers path... Photos please, please so I can at least see the beauty of Mother Natures sense of humor showing... Ohhhh....for those of you wishing for spring...My horses are shedding, like gobs of shedding starting. I used a slick-n-easy as my brushes can't be kept clean enough of accumulated hair... Hopefully, that is meaning a early spring and this "winter" will fade away sooner than later.

I love seeing it all clean and new and silent. and you can hear a squirrel whisper in the woods. BUT to clean up and to get to the buildings to feed all my horses. i need to have the driveway and paths cleared so hubby is the one who gets the worse end of it. or my son who lives close and he comes to help. thankfully we are not getting any.. BUT again the helps the fields in summer grow their products. so we should get some to help with that.
