She came in the shelter right beside me. I put a cup of feed in her dish. Kacie started to came in and Dollie pined her ears back and started to kick at Kacie like mad. I took hold of Dollie's halter and quickly tied her at the dish. I didn't untie her until I was all done with the other chores. I set down and petted her forehead and chewed her out and told her NO KICK. I untied her and she gave me a kiss and headed out for a drink of water. The two of them were standing side by side when I was feeding at another lot. Kacie is due to foal in March if my observations were correct. I hate to see her kicked.

I think they just get annoyed with on another and like to show who is boss. I have a palomino mare that has been with me for many years. and always had some beautiful babies. and was always a even natured and nice temperament. well i sold her last two babies to one person so they went off in the same day.. two days later she was pounding one of the other mares and i had to remove the other mare. days later she was doing the same thing. this went on until i had only the gelding in with her. she wanted no parts of the other babies or mares. i think she was and is so upset of the fact i sold her babies that is is depressed. and no she is not in foal. too bad too cause her babies were always so nice.
