LOL - I am not trying to turn into the whiner! I am thinking about making heart shaped horse treats for my friends at the barn for Valentine's Day. I've found a lot of recipes online but just wondering if any of you have a favorite one.

Are you going to show us a photo of the bags too?  and how you are going to package them.. too funny.. mine have applesauce and shredded carrots in them. with oatmeal and honey. |

I am thinking since I want to make them heart shaped, I am going to need a recipe that cooks/dries them in the oven. Or perhaps not? I don't want rock hard treats.  |

I don't want rock hard treats. i just use a regular cookie recipe and an add things in to make them more horse happy.. with the applesauce you can leave out some sugar. and roll out and cut with cookie cutter. or knife and make them thicker than a normal cookie and do not  all the way . that will leave them soft and chewy. |

Too funny... I love the title.
I don't actually have a recipe, but I have seen people make them with honey, Apple sauce, oats, crushed up peppermints and shredded carrot. I wouldn't subject Benny to my cooking, so on the rare occasions he does get treats they are the store bought ones. Great idea though!
