19 degrees F here this morning. I had the pickup truck loaded with 500 pounds of pellets that needed to unload. Rural King had it on sale for $5.99 per 50 pound bag when I stopped in last night. the lane was iced enough that the lawn tractor can not gut up the hill so I used the walker cart this morning as I have for two days. Not much to push it thru. I stopped to rest and took a picture. I have a different design in mind that will have a seat like a wheelchair where I can move it with the standard hand rims while seated if needed. The seat would be between the handles as well as the large wheels moved to the opposite end under the seat. That would let it be turned with out walking in a big circle when loaded. It is helpful for me this way for mow.

Can you get something like Honda? It's a motor with small tractor trailer so you could put feed and hay in in and drive it to your horses.

Can you get something like Honda? It's a motor with small tractor trailer so you could put feed and hay in in and drive it to your horses. Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate the caring thought. I do use something close when I can. The ice is covering the areas where I have to walk to feed and I need a walker of some sort to stand without falling. When I fall I have to crawl on my hands and knees to get to something to pull myself up. Before I built the walker cart I loaded the walker in the trailer, back of the pickup or in the bucket of the loader tractor. Normally this time of year the is to deep to use the lawn mower with trailer. When using the standard walker holding on to a pail of water with each hand was slow going in zero F high wind times. That is when I first started thinking of the combo walker cart idea. As the weather tosses out different obstacles in my path I have to use different devices to do what I want to do. A lot like as the weather gets colder I wear heaver cold resistant coveralls and coats to stay warm. New this year is the addition of battery heated gloves because of my mostly dead left hand that is cold in the house. I use this unit when weather allows.

You need a side by side. I'm so glad I bought mine. I load my hay and feed bucket up and park it in the garage. Then just open garage door and roll out to the barn. It has a roof and wind shield so that helps a lot. Better than walking a lot. It has a dump bed that holds 350bs and is hydraulic assist to lift it. Also has 4x4. I'm like you my hands go numb quick. It goes through mud an well. Best investment I have made... In the warmer weather you and Dixie can go for a ride. This pic is in front of my garage. The new barn is on the other side of the house in the back ground. The other barn where feed is, is off to the right of the pool about 30ft. So it's a long walk to that barn and then out to the other one and back. And we haven't had yet!!! But walking in the cold wind kills me. This could be your outside walker plus!!! It was 19 here this morning with wind coming out of the north...Buurrrr!!!

I do look at them. No room in any of the buildings to keep one now though. The shop called Friday evening that is rebuilding my ton trucks transmission and said he would have it at the end of this coming week. If I decided to get one, I could trailer a couple of antique cars out of our heated garage to the factory warehouse. I hate to do that though.
It was 9 F degrees with 15 mph wind when I did chores this evening. Wind chill was listed as -8 F. It didn't feel bad setting in the shelters while the horses were eating. I have all three shelters bedded deep for tonight. The morning forecast is for 5 F degrees with 19 mph wind. I'll have to do them before daylight in the morning as we have to leave early for Fort Wayne Indiana to see Dixie's breathing doctor.

Heck as quick as you build mini barns for your horses you could build on for a utv. They don't have to be warm!! It would be a good investment for you to get around easier. I stay in the barn also and wait for mine to finish eating. It's nice in there and yes it was cold and windy here today. But we are 41 days till spring!!! Well if nothing else use that 1 ton when you get it back. But with your health issues I would surely consider one if your going to keep doing your horses. Think long term my man!! It get colder on us every year that goes by!
