I agree with hl4l - we missed you too!!! Please be sure to check in at least every now and then so we know you are alright. Y'all are like a family to me and I worry about all of you, especially when we don't hear from someone.

I feel the same about you guys. I think of us as sort of a coffee club. I don't know if it is this way in the rest of the country, but here small groups of people, with similar interests, gather in small restaurants, eat breakfast, and drink coffee, while they discuss the news of the day. I think of us as a coffee club. We get together, because we all have similar, but all different interests, and we all get together here. Our interests are similar, so we agree with one another, but we also have many differences, so we learn from each other too.

Im so sorry to hear about this, I have a client who has been ill for 3 years and numerous doctors could not find the problem, well the latest one is now treating her for lyme disease but as she has been left untreated for so long its not looking good for her, she is now weighing in at 80lbs, she is so frail and weak, please keep up the treatment and keep in touch, I missed you too:)

I'm really sorry about your friend, LD. It seems like Lyme is often misdiagnosed. Plus, if misdiagnosed, and it's not treated long enough, or with the wrong antibiotic, the bacteria can even get stronger, and become antibiotic resistant.
I have to admit, I'm a little worried, because I took 10 days of Keflex, for a dental infection, a couple months after my exposure. It did not get rid of it.
All I can do at this point is take all my Doxy, and do the best I can.

Stop diamond....
Bacteria come in different types.... Not every antibiotic is created to destroy every organism {bacteria}. Certain antibiotics fight certain bacteria. Doxy works on Lymes.... Keflex does not... Keflex is not created to destroy the organisms of Lymes...
Breathe....
Your doctor is treating your symptoms that he is now aware of. You are already responding to the antibiotic... As it took time for the Lymes to worsen, it will also take time for the bacteria to be killed off and your body to recover and heal... You have not been on "drugs" intended to fight this for that many days... Breathe...take the medication as prescribed and realize that every day you are actually feeling a little better, a little stronger, a little less sore, etc... Stop, you're making yourself crazy about this....you are in good hands. Listen to what your body is now telling you....

My body telling me it hurts. Now that I am off the steroid, some of the arthritis, and the swelling has returned. Especially in my knees. The Pain in my fingers has gotten worse. They feel like I have smashed all of my fingertips, but without the throbbing. The really strange thing is, there is what looks like bruising under most of my fingernails, and I know I didn't mash any fingers. While the pain isn't severe, it is very uncomfortable.
If the finger pain isn't better by Monday I'll ask my Dr. for some Neurontin, to see if that won't knock back some of the neuropathy. I am a little worried about work. I draw blood on some rather dangerous fellows. I sure don't want to miss on any of them. Right now the only thing I can feel with my fingertips is pain. I had a big scare last week, when I was hurting, and nearly missed on a guy. He talked down before he hit me, but I'm not sure I want to do that again anytime soon. There are a couple of them that really scare me.

As of today, the arthritis and neuropathy have taken back over. My wrist and knees are so swolen, and it looks like I have shingles on both hands. I called in to work tomorrow, and I will go to my Dr. I am thinking I want Diclofenec and Neurontin. Both meds are prescription generic and ought to help with the inflamation and neuropathy. Plus I don't think Diclofenec is as hard on the stomach as Ibuprofen is.

Definitely get to the doctor today and demand something to help you feel better, no more passive "let's try this and see what happens". I'm so sorry you are having so many problems right now.

Saw my Dr. He prescribed Protonix, Gabepentin, and Mobic. He consulted an Internal Med Dr. Then he called me at home. I really don't like getting a call with the Dr. telling me he is concerned. He is worried about why suddenly my joints and nerves are being damaged. He said I will probably have to go back on the prednisone. He drew a lot of blood tests, and added some more after he talked to me. He said he would call me back today once the in house tests were done, but it's getting late. They may not have told him anything. Soooooo, now I wait for the rest of the tests to get finished, to see if they tell him anything.

I'm glad he is being more proactive (although at this point it is more reactive). I hope you get your results today so he can further refine your treatment. Sending to you.
