Although it's always sad in concept, but it seems even more regrettable when we feel a connection to a "real" person. I have relatives who live in Israel and when we went to visit we were told to never drive off paved roads for fear of hitting buried land mines! Those folks live in a war zone, but not like the ones we think of where "there's the war zone" and "there it isn't". It wasn't until 9/11 that we got a tiny glimpse of the kind of war some folks live in on a daily basis. We do live in a global neighborhood
