I know most of you have some money saving and time saving advice for the holiday. so how about sharing. even a small tip can go a long way with getting every thing done. so let's share.
money saving .. any child over 15 gets a small gift and money,, and any child over 21 gets just a small gift. lol

My children wanted to give something to their teachers at Christmas. I used to buy the large box at Sam's club of individual serving, various flavors, hot chocolate envelopes. About 40 were in the box, then I'd separate them and give each teacher maybe 5 envelopes wrapped in tissue and a ribbon. Over the years, the teachers had said they loved it because they would use them on their breaks and didn't have more "stuff". That took care of 8 teachers, bus drivers, etc. for about $10.
I'd better get started, haven't planned any gifts for my family yet, yikes!!!!

For all the kids I went to a liquidation store. They have a bunch of bran new toys and everything was SUPER cheap everything was priced down 40-50%. They might not be this years toys but at the end of the day I bought a decent toy for 5 kids and spent $45. I really hit the jackpot with that one!

I used to buy ingredients for about 10 different type of cookies and spend days mixing and doing. now i get those packages that come in all flavors. sometimes mix in my own color or style and poof cookies are done. i do make my butter cookies from a press and italian cookies but in 3 nights all of it is done and it is cheaper too. just read directions before leaving the store as some take butter and some take oil. and get the eggs

I like the hot chocolate idea. I also usually do a lot of baking for everyone at work...and I mean everyone - I specifically for one department that rarely gets the recognition they deserve but it's about 100+ people! Usually 3 pans of brownies and two different flavors of fudge plus maybe a few Hershey kisses on the plate for color. However, starting last year, I decided to move my appreciation baking from the Christmas holidays to Valentine's Day. Homemade gifts are the best but it seems the cost of supplies are going up so you're almost better off just buying a small gift. I had planned on doing pencil sketches of my friends' horses at the barn but I only have a good film camera and processing is expensive now and unfortunately most of the photos were not suitable to use for the sketches. So I decided just to work on them throughout the year and give them on birthdays or next year for Christmas I will be ready! So to ramble....I had a cup of coffee this morning and I'm moving a bit faster and more erratically than usual!
