No, I'm not looking for another dog, I'm just curious for future reference. I'm wondering if any of you have had experience with the following breeds. I've read what they say about them on line but it's not the same as someone who's had them. If I believed everything on line I wouldn't have a pitbull or pitbull crosses. But these breeds intrigue me. I did read that the Vizsla has no body smell, they don't smell like a dog. Interesting.
Hungarian Vizsla Beagle Weimeraner
I've always liked fluffy dogs with pointy ears. And pitbulls, of course. Now I find I like short haired dogs with hanging down ears, like hounds.

Beagles eat their own poop, I had a client who breeds them, they are dirty noisy beasts IMO lol! I have 1 vizsla that comes, I like it but its too high strung for me. My friend in Scotland had a wiemeraner, I love them, don't see many here

A couple of people i know have had beagles and they are runners. and when they get the take of killing neighbors chickens or rabbits there is no stopping them. as for weimrainers hubby had one when he was growing up and it was a loyal devoted dog. it ran away and he could not find him for weeks. when he did it was adopted by some people that found him miles away and the daughter was in love the dog so he let them keep it. the hungarian dog. i have no idea as people in new york do not have any. that i know of
i prefer the good mutts that need a home. after having rotties and shephards which are loyal and devoted but i find going to smaller dogs is more to my liking at my age. smileys-dogs-171634

Beagles are just noisy, noisy things! My neighbor has two Weimies and they are just wonderful dogs. The younger one is a bit protective of her people and house but she knows me and is sweet with me.

I think I totally fell in love with Maymo the beagle on YouTube. And when I see the beagles that have been used in test labs being set free for the first time I want one. They use them because of their nature.

Beagles are loud - all the time. Weimeraner and Vizsla need a lot of exercise and training. They are go, go, go dogs.

Beagles although good dogs need a job...they are a hunting dog and need to be worked/exercised.
Weimeraners think have a lot of working dog in them too, a relative to the Labrador retriever breed. Loyal, protective of the family and a family dog. Active dogs they need room to run and play or a job to do or they get boredom destructive...
Vizsla...I've seen pictures but nothing more.
One thing I can tell you I found out the other night... Our dog had a seizure, first one. Off to animal emergency we went. Attending vet told us Beagles and Weimeraners along with labs are known to have seizures...common not rare if that makes any difference to you. Knew about the labs, but learned something new on the other 2 breeds.. ...

Are they running bloodworks to see why?

Already did.... Results came back no infection, no signs of concussion or issues with his body. Nothing out of the normal range in his bloods. No answers.....
Vet said he could of had his "one in a lifetime seizure or the beginning of more"... We watch and if we see it happen again get to medical help immediately. At that time a treatment plan will be discussed that is in the best interest of the dogs health. So far nothing, no repeat. If he had not been laying with his head on my feet we would of probably never known it occurred. I had gone to bed for the night. Shadow sleeps curled up by my feet every night. He made not a motion, he actually stiffened and got glassy eyed, whimpered once. He acted drunk, uncoordinated when he came out of it...he was scared, very scared but only wanted to be held and stroked for reassurance. Our last dog when he had seizures he nearly would kill me clawing trying to get inside me away from his demons. He also was a lab but about 120 pounds of solid muscle...he was huge, my vet at the time said largest purebred lab she had ever seen. I won't go there again with this guy. I will put him to sleep if he has numerous repeats and even medicated has breakthroughs.... just to frightening for him. Shadow is MY dog, MY baby... I was beside myself thinking not again. ...

Vižla is old pointer breed. Very emocional and "sensitive" dog. They do need a lot of running and free space so if you have a small place it's not a dog for you. I have seen few and they really don't have that tipical dog oder. They are gorgeous though
