So I got a new pup, was one of those spur of the moment things, I had a dog come to stay in the kennels and fell in love with it, it was a breed Id never heard of and luckily after reading up on it a lot and then looking for pups not only did I find some close by, they were also being sold cheap due to personal reasons, unfortunately those personal reasons have taken toll on the pups as in they were being raised on dog chow(not even puppy chow)and leftover pizza, he is the darkest from the litter, he was born july 21st, anyway here are some pics and breed info:) Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deletedmolosserdogs.com/m/articles/view/429-sarplaninac

What an adorable puppy! I've never heard of this breed before. Does the little guy have a name yet?

We called him Toryn(means chief) I only got 2 hours sleep last night, he was restless and overheating, cant blame him, I was too, Im so tired I can hardly put one foot in front of the other, shame as the last 2 nights he slept much longer between pee breaks:(

Heather and I are going to come up and visit you before he gets much bigger. We want to see him while he's still a puppy.

What a pretty pup.. Such a face and markings.
Try to get some sleep... I hear a wind up alarm clock works to comfort pups when first taken from their litter mates.. ...

I have 2 other dogs that should comfort him but he just seems to prefer human company right now, odd as the breed says otherwise, he slept better last night, only got me up 2am and 4:30am, getting better lol!

He's adorable! I'm not familiar with that breed either, but I think I've seen it on tv here and there.
Congratulations! Love puppies! mini-graphics-valentine-940295

Id never heard of the breed before either, its funny, everyone asks what he is and when I tell them they are clueless, even the vet!
The dog that came to the kennels was huge, they get big, very playful and very very protective, they do not require lots of exercise, long walks are good enough, they more or less just lay around, very laid back until someone comes onto your property or an unfamiliar animal, then they wake up and go nuts, perfect acreage dogs.
Im starting clicker training him this week, he will be 8 weeks old on tuesday, hes getting a little more alert at what you are asking him, I cant believe how good he was on the leash from day 1, usually you are more or less dragging pups around for the first few days at least, he has a good recall at the moment, Im not brave enough to try him off leash as we have no fencing but I doubt he would go far unless a coyote or cat went past!

I had the worst migraine yesterday prob due to lack of sleep, Im sure Ill have another today, Im pleased he gets me up but I was up at 11pm(Im in bed by 9)1:30am then 4:30am, no way could I ever have had children!
Hes growing fast both physically and character wise, today will be the first day he is left alone with my 2 little ones while I go to kennels, Ill check on them after a half hour, theres nothing much in the room they will be in that he can wreck, I think I will leave my shih tzu in the tv room as she has no time for him yet and there is no where she can escape from him in the room Ill have to leave him in, Tinker loves playing with him so Ill just leave them 2 together, I will give him some anxiety drops first as usually he sleeps for a wee while after taking them:)

This is Bosnian breed, very common in Croatia, I even had one, and my neighbour has one too. This dog is going to be LARGE! They are breed for guarding sheeps from wolves in bosnian mountains. Very good character and gorgeous dogs.

I was hoping you would chime in Lipizzan as I saw (I think on the wikipedia page) that they were Bosnian dogs. We'd love to see a photo of yours if you have one handy on your computer.

They are absolute gigantic teddy bears. They just tend to have hip problems like all big dogs do. I love that they have fluffy coat so they look even bigger. hope your little pup will be as big as this one
