Yes, my horses are suddenly falling to pieces, I wormed both of them yesterday and on treating Ira for sweet itch when I flipped his mane over I discovered he has a huge hard solid lump on his neck, he has a smaller bump on the other side that I know hes had for weeks and I assumed it was a reaction to a bug bite as theres a tiny scab, neither of these lumps appear to bother him but the size of the one on his near side has me wondering, there is no bite mark or puncture I can find, its almost like when a horse has a bad reaction to a vaccination but bigger! I called the vet monday but didnt get an answer as they are both overdue on vaccinations so Ill persist today, not sure if you can see anything in the pics but here you go

I would still think bug bites. We have had a lot of bugs this year and the horses (all 4 of them) are covered in large lumps as well. If it is not tender or sore he should be fine.

hard to see in the pictures but I would also suspect a reaction to some sort of bug bite. Get the vet out for vaccs and while she is there, definitely point it out to her. As long as it isn't bothering him or getting bigger and bigger each day, I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm glad it's getting better. Ziggy gets so bumpy from bug bites and we all know the bug sprays just don't last. Gerald is considering bug sheets for the first time. But I think the way they get after each other they'd be in shreds before too long. But gosh its just so sad!

good that it is going down, perhaps use listerine mouth wash on it to keep the flies away and will keep cooler than just any fly spray.

Onion and lavander, best cure for bugs, and natuaral
Put one white onion in 1 liter of wather with few flowers of lavander and spray on a horse.

Thanks Lip, good for all of us to know:)
Vet was out and checked them over yesterday, of course the lumps gone now but she said most likely a sting reaction, man it was a bad one
