I'd never heard of this breed before. Thanks for sharing and educated us. It sounds like they did a good job in figuring out what to breed together to get a horse that would suit their needs.
Is there a group that registers this particular breed or are they registered as Arabians?

They are registered as Borike Arabian horses. This breed is now more then 100 years old. Not to old, but enough to form a pure breed. There is no more mixing Egypt arabians or Bosnian mountain horses. Now only Borike breeds with borike. Like Lipizzans. It is funny how most owners of Borike arabians don't like Lipizzans. Two very different breeds.

What a fantastic looking breed of horse. the bay looks sooo much like my bay arabian that was my joy for 22 1/2 years. the greys are awesome looking and to think they are hearty and bred for the cold. thanks for educating us.

I thought how he looks like your heart horse also. I think his name is Gazal. But not to sure. They are very popular in endurance sport and my next horse breed to own for sure.

Very good looking horses! I like arabs but they can be so high strung and they look so fragile. I like what they have bred into these horses. They look heartier than the Arabians I am used to seeing.

Those are high resistent horses. They were mixed with drafts so no wonder. Although small in size, they easy cary a grown man .

My arabians are strong, spirited, and smart. not the fragile dainty types that are in books. and besides for an arabian to last thousands of years the breed has to be strong. and it is in most other horse breeds.. horseadventures.freeforums.net/thread/807/arabian-horse

Just catching up and saw this....
Very pretty........ blue ribbon
I know you said those who own Lipizzaner don't like these and probably vice versa but.... I see many common characteristics between the 2 breeds..
Regal I think tops the list along with beauty and "presence". graphics-3d-smileys-082254
Thanks Lip...I also never heard of them ever before.

They are beautiful Lipizzan. Every breed has a certain something that makes them special but to me, all horses, all equines really are amazing animals; even the most "clumsy" and stubby has grace and agility far beyond any other kind of animal athlete. How any of them ever let us ride them defies understanding, but they do!

I would love to own one of these! Wow - I love the good solid bone they posess and still have the very refined Arab looks. Thanks for sharing
