I saw this and thought it might be useful. I know that others have presented the same info but perhaps having it in a chart this way will make things easier during such a time of worry.

Great chart showing the different symptoms and what to look for and it should be posted in every barn whether private home or boarding situation. also getting the horse help as soon as possible. so be on the look out for a horse that is not eating, or lying down for longer periods of time. thrashing or perhaps lifting his head up and lifting his upper lip. which is unusual for that particular animal. that is also a sign of discomfort.
have basic medications on the ready, banamine paste, or if liquid, a syringe and remember to administer on the gums near the teeth. . fleet enemas. epsome salt, or mineral oil. and of course pray.

Great reference, going to print that and put it up at our barn. Nothing worse that trying to run through google for colic symptoms in a barn that blocks cell signal.
