He looks so much better and healthier. I am sure it is easier for him to move around too. Good job guys.

Remission is also a supplement that can be used to help IR resistant horses. Not sure if it is available in Canada though. My daughters mare is showing more IR signs as she ages. Fat deposit before her udder and neck that is starting to crest. She also gets barely enough to live on and is still as round as a barrel. Just when I got her where I wanted her the spring grass came in. She is only out about an hour a day but we may have to change that as well as the nights here have been very cook and the grasses really store sugar then.
Can you get a slow feeder hay net and have them put it in his paddock with him?

I've noticed his appetite has actually decreased with regular work now. Would have thought more work would require more calories but he actually is less interested in his hay. Used to be he'd be done his and stare through the fence at Fox while she finished hers, now it's the other way around. But it's great to see his weight dropping. Gotta be hard on a horse to haul that extra weight all the time. The crest will probably be the last to go and some neck flexing with his workout might help with that area. Here's a pic of him from year back doing grand entry at Spruce Meadows. I had to keep him hauled in with the reins so tight because he's want to run the whole arena. He'd hop and skip and rear all the way around like a fancy show pony and I'd be holding him back for dear life worried he'd head for a huge jump and take me over it haha. Everyone else's horses were calm and cool and here's Prince high headed and ready to run, thank god for being a fearless 13 year old

He was a weiner then. He'd prance and rear as they went past the audience and people would cheer and clap. He was very silly.

I bet he will be breathing a bit easier also with some of the weight gone. now do not let him loose too much, some horses have a natural crest and when his was fuller it might not disappear altogether .

He's like a lab dog (or me), he's an easy keeper.
