"It took a long time and it was painful. I know that we have further to go, but we have come a long way." Two years ago today Bilbo officially became mine - we have had a wild ride for the last two years. Full of ups, downs, tears, blood, sweat, laughter and smiles. We made it through crazy barn owners, the flood, abscesses, falls, spooks, and a 1400 mile move. I wouldn't trade this horse for anything, he may be a absolute pain in the ass but he is my monster. He helped me through losing Flighty. We have come a long way and have a long way to go. But when I brought him home two years ago, I would have never thought we would be hauling out for trail rides or any of the other things we have planned! I am so proud of Bilbo! This is where we start again, hopefully with many more years.

Great pics. I had a Bilbo once. Ended up being the best horse I ever owned. We taught each other a lot. We were both as green as grass at the start. But by the end we were a team.

I love the stories of your adventures with Bilbo and love the pics- horses that test us and teach us are unforettable.

Thanks everyone! The saying "It is the difficult horses that have the most to give you" is very, very true. He has tested me from day one, but it has taught me so much and made me a much better rider/person.

You really should write a book, a picture book as you have a way of organizing them to tell the story. I think it would be incredibly helpful for you and old.

But the book really needs to include mustang's skill level too otherwise folks like me and other novices will get the idea that Flicka is real. There is a LOT of work involved literally blood sweat and tears
