From those pics I would say that this horse has had poor farriery - his feet are duckbilled and his heels are becoming underrun on the front. You can see that there are signs that he is travelling in an odd way by the wear on his front feet. Compare left front to right front and you will see that right front is more worn than left front. From the angle of the pic this gelding looks to be cow hocked and camps a little awkwardly in the back. Not sure if it is just the timing of the photos etc -
May be worth a look in person but I would want him walked and trotted off an a raked arena floor so I could see foot fall patterns.

That last sentence is really interesting; excellent idea for checking out any horse when you think about it. Any other prospects Apollo? |

Not at the moment. I am not being super active in my searching right now either. There are a ton of horses on the market right now (layoffs, bad hay year) so I am just keeping an eye on things to see if I come across anything else that piques my interest. I am not in a rush to buy something else, and there has been quite a few advertisements for lease horses lately, so I am looking at that route again. If anything interesting develops I will be sure to post about it.  |
