Yes, I woosed out. I was all prepared but then Lois was doing chores so we chatted, then they had two sows have babies so we had to sit in there for a while, oh my goodness they're adorable and they were just born this morning. And it was soooo warm and toasty. Somehow I just lost my ambition.
I took pictures of the piglets with my phone so that's a lost cause, sorry.
Lois heard from her daughter-in-law Stacy who heard from the trainer Stephanie that I don't ride for very long before I get off. I kinda felt like telling someone to stick it but I didn't get that there was snark so I just said, "Yes I do get off, but then I get back on too". Let them talk, so they're all young and fearless, so its no big deal to them. But let me take them to Chicago or even just little ol' Minneapolis and have them drive in traffic and see who has balls and who is a weinie! I've driven Washington DC eating a DQ sundae, so put that where the saddle hits ya, sister!
Got that out of my system.
I don't like that my imagination gets away with me, but hey, its another layer of skill. Naturally being able to do something is no accomplishment.
Guess there was more that needed to be said 522867

You tell em . Darn youngsters. They still have muscles, and balance, while we have menopause, and arthritis. See how well they ride after having kids, and then having the factory all shut down, and the joints stiffen up. Ooooh, {{{hot flash}}}
You drive in the big city. That takes so much courage. I can't do that, but I will walk into a room, with an insane murderer, with a box full of needles (weapons), Monday through Friday, and have gotten used to it.
Silly youngsters anyway. They think they are facing their fear, because they can ride an unruly horse. Real fear comes, when you look at your retirement, and realize, if you suddenly found yourself out of a job, at todays rate, it would only last you about 10 years. Unfortunately, you wanted to live a couple years longer than that, and still be able to feed your horses.
Sorry about all the cold you guys are having. We have been pretty lucky, and our cold hasn't lasted to long at a stretch, this winter. We would gladly take some though. snowman-waving

You mean there are murderers who are sane? Doesn't make sense to me, but then that's legaleze. But explain to me again what you do, somehow I thought it was something other than that! Holy Smokes! I've always been cautious and over fearful but now I march to no one else's drummer and if I want to get off, my ego doesn't keep me up there. Maybe it should but there is always another day. I GET TO GO OUT AND SEE MY HORSE EVERY DAY! Not just a weekend a month or every couple months. So maybe I do spoil myself but I don't have to prove anything to anyone but myself. Off topic but its my thread so whose gonna say different LOL There are a lot of cheap clothes websites that must be manufactured in China or somewhere because I wear a 10/12 and that would be a 2X or XL!! www.rosegal.comLike the clothes though, but don't know how really cheaply made they are. Anyone know about this?

hug.s - you just go on doing what you are doing. I bet you will be riding a little bit more each time and will eventually be riding all over the place, loosing track of time.
Not sure about those clothes - read some of the reviews. I did notice that "company policy" states that they will not exchange or return because of the wrong size. I've never heard of a company doing that! I would imagine at those prices the clothes are being made in sweat factories in China, India, Thailand, etc.

Don't let those girls get to you. I'm sure they are still in their young and indestructible faze. I remember when I would hop on any horse any time and ride for hours, with no worries, too, but that was then and this is now. I think as we get older and realize that we are breakable, and that we have responsibilities that we cannot meet if we are hurt and can't work, we start to get a little more cautious. Plus, as Diamond said, our bodies have changed, things don't work quite the way they used to, and many of us (myself included) have had things happen to us that have shaken our confidence. The important thing is that you are getting out there, you are spending time with your horse, you are enjoying yourself, and you are riding! I don't care how long or how short the time is that you are on your horse, the point is that you are on your horse, and you've been working hard to get to where you are now, and you and your horse are only going to get better. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't let what anyone else thinks get to you. I for one am very proud of you and how far you've come already! blue ribbon

I agree with Terry - a friend we ride with is in her early 70's and her motto is "Live to Ride Another Day" when I was first riding Naughty Steve with our group and he would really misbehave she would always say to me - get off if you want to - we all want to live to ride another day. My group of friends was so understanding and I did get off - many times - just enough to relax and get back on. I was always so embarrassed - I have been a rider since before I could remember and even broke horses and worked with a trainer - and I would get so scared and nerved up. Today I do not get off of Naughty Steve when he is naughty ( it still happens) but I would if I wanted to.
YOU are doing fantastic - YOU are RIDING!!!!!! - YOU are going to the barn when you can and working full time - YOU ARE A SUPERSTAR and someone I admire for their tenacity. Keep doing what you are doing and I am sure that you will get to your goal.

Aw you guys *sniff* I really am teary eyed. I've never had people really get me before. Its always been about pleasing them to be okay or following my own path and being so alone. I'm glad that I gave you as girlfriends. And Lois too and to an extent Stephanie. I don't honestly think Stephanie was snarky but although she understands she can't really get it.
Anyway until I get through this probation I'll be a mite insecure because this great life would just fall apart. And yes only in my imagination is there a problem. I need retraining
