Something is seriously wrong with this companies milling standards...once was a accident, twice was a fluke....but this is now becoming to common with this company and their feed product. It is also now in more product lines....
PLEASE BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL. If you must purchase from them...test first before using for equine consumption...

I don't understand. Why isn't the company doing something about this?
I worry about changing feeds, myself. I will soon be starting the change, to a new feed, but the feed mill is not far from me, at a local CO-OP and I will have the privilege of being able to go to them, and ask them personally about their milling operation.
I am not even sure my horses need the supplement. They get fair hay, it's CRP, and I do give them some soaked alfalfa.
I just can't imagine why this company isn't doing all they can to find out how this happened. All I know is I wouldn't want a company that doesn't seem to care just how important our horses are to us, milling my feed. Shame on them.

If the public would stop purchasing all products made by that company than the company will either listen and take the precautions necessary to protect horses or close up and go out of business. read your labels and watch those additives and make sure your products are pure and made by a company that only does horse feed and is eager to listen and answer your questions about eh feed and how it is made.

I agree HL...the public who purchases their product can indeed make a statement if they stand together.
This company is larger than many realize. I did a search and was stunned at how many other companies in many states are part of a conglomerate. The practice of one would make me wonder about the practices of the others honestly....
I know when the first incident came to our knowledge I went and flat out asked my feed mill how they mix and protect my horses feed. I was taken for a tour of the recipe room, mixing vats, ingredients storage area...and bagging machinery. Any and all questions were asked, and answered openly and were invited to ease my mind. I know the man owns, breeds horses....he feeds what I feed my horses. He would not jeopardize his animals and he will not jeopardize mine.
Accidents happen....this now to me is no longer "accident" status but negligence, period. At the expense again of our riding companions, friends and for many...their way of making a living. A cruel and senseless waste because safety oversight of a deadly component to horses was not better looked after. I don't know what kind of criminal charges can be set on the company and "mix-master" behind the control panel....but it is time this company felt pain in the form of very hefty fines, ones they pay, not their insurance policy. Paid from every shareholder...

I haven't seen any of their feed around here either, but....
The alfalfa plant, I get my chopped alfalfa from, also bags alfalfa, for Purina. It is the same alfalfa. The bags are just different.
I trust my alfalfa guys, and I am so lucky to have been given an impromptu tour of the plant, and have seen some of their safeguards. The guys are also great guys, and they are proud of their products. You just can't beat HONEST HOME TOWN PRIDE.
My guys, mill other products too, and some of them are for human consumption. Sometimes, I am welcome in the plant, and a few times, they are following strict guidelines, and I need to stay back.
They take their jobs seriously.
I wonder how many company's ADM gets their feed products from. On any Purina product, it says manufactured by Purina Mills. I wonder if that "Purina Mills" means that the mill has been inspected, and has checked off, as being good enough to mill for Purina.
It seems to me that if they have different company's providing their product, or parts of their product, the contamination could have come from one, of a number of different suppliers. There could be more feed effected, other that just ADM feed. How safe is any manufactured feed?
Shame on ADM, for not finding the source of the contamination immediately, and not getting it exposed, and stopped.
