So I was looking for a kitten way before my 6 year old Sid went missing but I never had any luck, I was either too late and they were gone or couldn't fit in with their pick up times.
Sid despite everyone looking out for him and ads all over has never came back, we are pretty sure a bald eagle took him along with my younger cat Porscha, I still have my oldest Burke at 7, he spent the last few weeks at the kennel as he had an injury, I brought him back to the house and after a couple hours opened up his cat flap, he went out for most of the day but came back at night:)
Anyway late last night I was looking at kijiji and there was an ad for a kitten
Free kitten to a good home. Kitten found in the wheel well of a truck on a oil site starving. Fed and watered but can't keep.
So I emailed her, it's a tabby, they think about 3-4 weeks old, that's all I know, I'm meeting her this afternoon:)
i hope burke can train this one up good as a mouser , Burke is the best, he is stunningly beautiful, long legs, soft eyes, we lost him too when He was about 2 for almost 4 months, one day he came back, he was so nervous, even to this day if you make sudden movements he's off, he's not good with men he doesn't know so we think he took a beating from a man somewhere and funnily enough I was talking to a neighbour I don't know too good who was telling me her husband and her despise cats and how they do anything to get rid of them when they come round:( Sid, my hubby's cat was a runt and a little retarded, couldn't mouse worth anything, bless him:) Porscha, she was unwanted, I really liked her, I'm sorry she is gone, I feel horrid, I hate when you just never know what happened to them, I was talking to a client, she says that too but that to remember my cats are cared for and loved and have a good life out hunting, climbing and playing, some cats get so bored stuck in the house.
I have mice in the house at the moment, I've been laying traps and putting poison down, saw one in the kitchen yesterday, got the little blighter this morning, mostly they are in the basement boiler room, hopefuly now burkes back the numbers will diminish:)
Anyway I'll post pictures later once I've picked it up:)

I would imagine you are back with the kitten. if it is that young it might be a long while before it mouses. and sad to hear of the other cats missing , i hate when that happens

I'm back, no pictures yet, I'll take some tomorrow.
So it's not a tabby, it's long haired and I think female, all the things I didn't want but on seeing her and feeling her weight or lack of it what could I do, she's older, I think closer to 5/6 months, she has lovely long legs and the most stunning see into your soul eyes:) She was quiet all the way home, not a peep, I put her in with my big cat Burke, he's sleeping in his bed and she's sleeping in a huge dog bed I had spare, they should get along, he's a nice boy:)
She has filthy ears and it looks like her tail tips burned, can't see anything obviously wrong with her, it's horrid to hold her as she's skin and bones:(
I'll call the vet tomorrow, see if I can take her in Tuesday as my fav vet works Tuesdays, he's older and a big cat lover:)

I am sure you will do what is right for her. just a suggestion. baby food meat is the best for a cat that has not had food, or is thin. the baby food is light and has no fat. or evaporated milk cut with sugar and water that is warm. glad you have her or she would be dead. kisses

Thanks guys, for some reason the photos won't go to my ipad so I can't post them yet, sorry:( She looks not too bad in the pics, hair can hide a lot!
I have an appt for her tomorrow afternoon, they asked what I needed, I'm like well depends what the vet thinks, if she's done for nothing, if she can be ok then vaccinated etc, the young girl was kinda shocked, grow up girly!
I'm pretty sure she's not spayed, her urine stinks strong, either that or she has a uti, I'm doing nothing to her before he sees her not even cleaning the gunk under her eyes, I want him to see how bad she is.

So as promised here's a few pictures, I wish I could catch her eyes in the right light but she keeps moving, they are a bright luminous glowing yellow!
I can't believe the difference in her already, she actually feels heavier and she is much less nervous and is more active, she also is now sitting next to my other cat who isn't accepting her yet but this is the first morning she has dared to go within 5 ft of him!
She is terrified of my dogs, they barked this morning and she shot in the open bathroom cupboard as you'll see from the first picture!
She only seems to eat when I'm around for some reason, you'd think a hungry cat would wolf it down but no she waits till I'm by her, not sure why?
Anyway to the pictures and I'll update after her vet visit too:)

She's a pretty little thing. She probably doesn't feel safe eating when you are not around. Right now you are her safety net. Hopefully she will become more independent as time goes by.

So the vet says she's closer to 6 months, she weighs only 3lbs, she is running a fever and is anaemic, can't be treated as she is so malnourished, he did give her the mildest dose of wormer he could, I've to take her back in 2 weeks for another visit, then hopefuly she can be wormed for tapeworm and vaccinated, she is not micro chipped:)
She is amazing in the car, so quiet and well behaved in her carrier, she was very nervous at the vets, every noise she wanted to bolt, he said her heart was racing!
Vet didn't charge me, he was mad as he said obviously she's been dumped, she's not feral, good with humans, litter trained, we checked all over facebook and every lost cat site, nothing, oh well, she will be looked after now:)
Now for a name?!

What a beauty and good for your vet not to charge. mine does not charge me for rescues either. and she will be ok, just keep feeding her and in a couple of weeks she will be ok.

She's beautiful!!! I'm so glad you found her and are giving her the care and love she needs. I agree with Mistersmom, you are her safety net right now, so she wants/needs you there before she's comfortable eating, but I'm sure as she gets healthier and more accustomed to her new home, she'll eventually feel comfortable enough to start doing things on her own. How kind of your vet not to charge you! Good luck with the little beauty, and please keep us posted on her progress.

Thanks guys, she's doing even better today, eating much more, I think maybe her stomach must have shrunk as she would eat but not really that much, today she's ate almost double so far what she ate 2 days ago!
She still sleeps a lot but is becoming braver, my Shih tzu barked in the other room and she didn't budge which is a first, she's started being a lot more vocal, I thought she couldn't meow but turns out she can albeit a quiet one, she also copies what I do, I got her a cat scratch thing, I scratched it with my nails and she started copying me lol!.....I gave her a little beaver filled with catnip, she is a bit interested but it's almost like she doesn't know what to do or how to play, she doesn't chase anything if you drag it, just looks at you!....maybe I'll have to roll around with the catnip to show her lol!

It will take many days perhaps weeks to learn to be a cat and be comfortable in her new home. and yes just roll around on the floor and get high on the catnip,. lol

Sounds good HL I am kinda glad she's a bit older at 6 months so she's past the crazy attack kitten stage, I am not a big kitten lover, as cute as they are the little blighters scratch too much for me, I'm a wimp! I'm growing quite attached to her, she can't half purr when she gets going, my other cat must be doing ok with her, I just shut them in together at night, he's out and about during the day, she's in the house, hubby's not too happy about that, hates cats in the house, oh well!

Those yellow eyes are so expressive. Such a pretty kitty. Did you name her? Sorry if I missed that part.
