Got a call from a lady that was recommended to me by a former boarder . This person calls that she has a tb stud in the belmont track that she needs to get out of there. ok bring him up this is the board and because he is a stud the board is higher than what my web site says.
september board she gives me two checks, one bounces,. ok. now we have a problem because we are now into october no money, is sent. a few phone calls later and i get a money order for a tiny amount,. need less to say. i do not cash the money orders and when the board becames 45 days past due i sent her a return receipt notice that has gone un-picked up (is that a word) anyway hubby leaves her a message that on tuesday the horse is going to auction for back board.
today we get a call from the police department they want to see our contracts and come talk. yes the police are in agreement she owes the money and we are not giving her the horse. no way no how unless she comes up with cash. sooooooo hopefully wednesday she will be here with truck, trailer. and cash... to clarify, if i cash the money orders it constitutes agreement to HER terms and not what my contract says. the board is due in the beginning of the month not in weekly increments.
I will keep you all updated on the progress of this shister person who thinks everyone should take small monies as payment she also has a mare. and 4 yearlings that are boarded so no one is getting their monies.

Makes me wonder who and what reputable trainer at the track put up with this nonsense. I know none I ever dealt with would of... If he was sent off the track for injuries{?} who else has she not paid.... They may still be standing in line... I wouldn't even allow her shipper on your property till the bill is paid in full in cash...and go to the store and get one of those marking pens to identify "fake" money! You know... after the bill is paid in cash, I would tell the shipper to hold on right there and go get the horse and bring him to the shipper. Let them deal with all of the preparations for his removal off your land so no "lawsuit" could be filed for any reason... Remember to take pictures from all angles and clearly showing any and all just in case, time and date stamped! ...good riddance. You don't need boarders like this!! ****You DO NOT have her other horses do you??? hopefully not! ****

Yes the trainer at belmont is well known, and i will not say his name.and apparently he did not get his money either. i kinda feel bad. since she had a child at 18 die in a head on crash , i saw the photo of the car and it does not look like a car. she is still in shock. but it does not mean i am getting soft. she has cheated many people. and owe alot of monies to vets. farriers. trainers. race tracks. and her friends. i will take photos as suggested tomorrow with a photo of the daily newspaper showing the headlines. documenting the condition of this horse. i am sorry for the horse, he would make a great hunter as a gelding. as a 3 year old his whole like is ahead of him and no telling where he is going to wind up. I can not save them all.

1 PM eastern time she is not here yet. so making cranberry sauce and getting my apples and crust ready for pie. photos are taken by me and my helper and he is groomed with halter on ready to go. He is so nice,. leggy. needs to learn to be a real horse and needs to be gelded. and make someone happy owning him. but it is not for me to tell anyone what to do with their unregistered TB colt. at least i will have an empty stall and makes room for a boarder that will pay. I will update later as to the situation.

At 8 15 pm i get a padlock and i lock the main gate coming into the farm. i did not want her to wander in and walk the colt out. i come back to the house and call her up. really annoyed that she was not here and have not called. she answered her phone (to my surprise) and she was about a mile away. I put my other stallion away, so we could get her horse out of the barn. , before she takes the horse she hands me a bank check. i mentioned that if that check is stopped she will be arrested for passing bad checks and horse stealing. so i suppose she can not stop payment on a bank certified check. i told her to geld the horse and sell him as a riding horse and be done with the race track. so the end of the saga of a bad paying boarder. thanks for listening .

Well...glad she and her horse are gone, but... you can put a stop on a bank check hate to tell you. Don't write against it till positive it clears...make a copy of it both sides before depositing it for your records too.You can put a stop to electronic payments too that have passed the time of collection and were not collected on {found out when my mortgage bank went belly up and was sitting on 2 payments that could of been retrieved by someone many months later (think 16 months that money sat there)...} You can stop anything if you speak with the right person.I wonder how she had a unregistered colt on the track running? hmmm Interesting twist...sure she didn't just acquire him and his papers were torn up so he can't race or breeding him is worthless? Possibly she saved his life and the "true" owner wrote him off as a loss or collected his insurance as he went "unsound" sounds more like it to me, you too probably....shaking my head!! {we need a new emoticon!!}
Well...he is gone and at least the $$ of his daily care is over with...now to collect that $$ or just deal with her and her mess...

I am going to find a citi bank and go cash it, the check says bank certified. she better not stop payment on it or she goes to jail for writing bad checks. and i already told her that and the sheriff told her that when he spoke to her.
apparently he can be breezed but he should not be on the track without papers she has told so many lies she does not know which way is up . i feel for the horses she owns as they are the innocent ones.
