I understood it. He has pigs to sell for meat. Will cost you 1$ per pound of the pig, So if the pig whole is 250lbs you pay 250$ plus the cost of processing... 125$ if you only get half of the pig..People here so that all the time.
Well don't know about the chicken thing..

I was reading the title of the pig ad; "pig half or whole going in monday 2 left" How could a person bring in a half of a pig? And if you have two halves, even more importantly, wouldn't they go in as a whole?! Just doesn't make sense, if you had two half pigs then they would have gone in already not yet to go in, no reason to send in half a pig at all! So you see my thinking.
And who in the world IN MINNESOTA would ask for year old laying hens in December! If you had a chicken a year old in December then why would you sell it at all?! And here in MN most folks sell their hens in fall because they don't want to overwinter them. Even all that being said, you don't buy chickens in Minnesota in December, too risky. This is common sense. Just stupid.
And my casserole came out and of course even though I already had supper I had to eat some. YUM! And I'm three to four cookies shy of a tummy ache. I made my favorite sugar cookies with poppy seeds and ate so many that I thought I was literally going to toss my cookies. But I didn't. I'll take that as training, or a lesson, either way.
