The farrier came out today to trim all of my horses. I was nervous about how Pocket would do for him since I wasn't going to be able to be here (I was at work), she's only been with us for a little more than a month now, she's still a little timid, and she's definitely still afraid of strangers, especially men. I had called and given him a head's up that we had a new pony and told him about her being timid and afraid of men. He said he'd have his apprentice with him in case they ran into any problems, and that if she was too bad, he'd just not trim her, but would schedule a time to come back out when I could be home. It was clear to me from the moment we first saw her that her hooves had been trimmed before, because they were all nice and neat, so I hoped she would be good for the farrier, but again, new place, new people, and her having no one familiar around had made me a little nervous about how she would do for him. Fortunately it appears that my worries were unfounded because I came home to find all 3 of my girls nicely trimmed, and none seemed the worse for wear. Yay!!!
(What can I say, sometimes it doesn't take much to make me happy. )

Glad to hear everyone got their little tootsies taken care of. Have you talked with the farrier yet to see how she actually did for him?

No, I haven't had a chance to actually speak to him yet, but he left me a note letting me know when our next appointment is, thanking me for the Christmas card and Christmas gift I left for him, and wishing me a Merry Christmas, so I'm assuming that if she'd given him any trouble, he would have left me a note about it. I figure no note and nicely trimmed feet means she did a good job.

Think your "Pocket" is indeed a special pony!!
So far, no matter what you ask Pocket complies {except medicine }......
Sweet!!
The sellers loss and definitely your gain on such a nice pony!!

I couldn't agree more! So far our little Pocket Pony has not only met my expectations, but exceeded them (except for medicine ). I'm very happy with her and really feel fortunate that she came into our lives and has now become a part of our family.
