You are in short sleaves in Febuary =-O Bilbo is very pretty. Glad you have fun. laughing I saw that too, and was very jealous. I do love the pictures though. I love to visit other places through everyone's pictures, even if it is warmer there. snowman-waving

I remember visiting San Francisco, CA in March I believe, it was 60-70 degrees F and I was in tshirt of course. I was riding a trolley and a fellow asked me, "Aren't you cold?", "I'm from Minnesota", "Ohhhh, that makes sense", he said

Wpw. My son Nels lived in the Portland OR area for a few years and I tried to get myself a job over there but obviously it never worked. He came back and met his now-wife so he's better off. But gosh it sounds magical over there, but I guess I'll be frozen for the forseeable future

I was going to comment on the short sleeves as well. Extremely windy and cold here in NW Il- weatherman says we may reach 31 by Saturday- That will be a heat wave!!!!! Hate to complain but I am tired of being cold.
Keep those pics of Bilbo coming! Love to see the trails.

Please know I mean absolutely no disrespect with what I am about to say. I don't think I could ever stay on a rearing horse while bareback. I have noticed though that you always seem to be pulling straight back on the reins in the rearing pictures. I understand you are trying to stay on but have you tried, when he starts to think about rearing, trying to turn him and/or disengage his hind end? I would imagine it would be hard for him to rear if he couldn't get his hind end under him. Almost kind of like a one-rein stop. Just a thought.

I would rather stay on then let him think he gets out of working bareback, my seat is fine bareback. I am very comfortable. I was in the process of turning in that photo, so my hands are in a odd place but as soon as went up I just held still. If he get it into his head that he gets out of work rearing then it will be far worse. I would rather work through the issue then give in and get off.

I didn't mean to imply that you get off. No, you definitely need to stay on and not let him think rearing gets him out of work, I was just trying to think of how you might be able to discourage the rearing.

Love that dog is going along. Glad you had a nice ride. And I agree that with difficult horses you always cherish every little step forward.
