Well Baconator and Ham Hock came back home today. Nicely packaged and frozen. Mine weighed in at 246 and dressed out at 186lbs. So needless to say I have plenty of pork chops, steaks, bacon. ham hocks, ground pork, ribs, and sausage. Oh and 2 hams. Filled 2 shelves in my freezer. A lot of meat for 2 people and we have another one going in March. It's so nice not to have to pay high prices at the grocery store for pork. Plus I know what is in my meat. Can't wait to get the steer!! Next spring I want to get chickens. Some for eggs and some for the freezer. At least for eggs if nothing else. I'll still be working on the fencing also. So much to do.
So for 138$ for 186lbs of meat isn't bad!!! Not sure what I spent in feed probably around 130$ for 16 weeks of growing, but I'm sure it was still cheaper than the store.

Goodness, I didn't even know they "left". Lots of pork for you and the family! Definitely better to know where your food comes from.

One up right and a chest freezer. Those we got for the beef. If we ever get him. I was told that he isn't ready yet. But when he is. We will probably take the stock trailer and go get him and have it butchered here. So far I think all I need is a Health Cert. from what I read on the Missouri Ag page. We have a Holstein calf that won't be ready till next year. After we get all the fencing in. We are going to buy an angus cross.
