We power washed out the back end yesterday to have to ready to go again. I think when the season is over. I'm going to take it to one of the big truck washes and have them acid wash the back end out. I will take the mats out and saddle rack. Then after they do that and it dries completely. I'm going to buy some of the roll on bed liner stuff and roll it on the aluminum floor to keep the horse pee from corroding the floor. My trailer is 11 yrs old and still the floor looks good. But this way it will last longer and be easier to clean. I'm getting ready to wash the outside of it and it needs a good elbow to get the white walls clean. Then I need to clean the aluminum sides on it. I think I will get a buffer for that job. Too big of an area to do by hand. After that I will check all the caulking on it and replace old caulking. I still have to figure out how I'm going to power wash the top of the trailer. I guess I could get Tony to lift me up in the bucket on the tractor. I'm afraid to walk on the roof. I know the back section is very thin roofing. But yet my RV guy walked on the front section when he put the new ac in it. I think the other thing I can do is put a piece of plywood up there to lay over the bracing and use as a cat walk. No matter It's a big job to do.

WOW beautiful trailer! One day.... one day! Plywood should work, it would at least give you that security feeling anyways. I know I would be afraid to go up there, but I'm very afraid of heights.
You can tell you take good care of it.

Pretty and in great shape. ....
I bet your RV guy walks the trailer front because it must be reinforced to hold the A/C unit.... the back....you might make a sky light. The tractor bucket {tie yourself in for safety} sounds like it would get you high enough and close enough to be able to move around some...
So much work...but so worth it for the enjoyment and safe travels we all like.
Ming can you use that stuff, "Super Clean", to take off the black stripe dirt marks? I don't know if it would strip the shiny finish off though...
Next time Lint heads out ask him to check the truck stop truckers shop for the product they use on the trucks & trailers to remove the stuff...probably easier than most of what we would use...bet you use it with a power washer too.
Afterwards can you do a "Gel-Coat" application to make cleaning and removing the grime easier in future? My in-laws had a motor-home and dealt with the issue often too...I know they did that "Gel-Coat" stuff, what a difference. You can use it inside on your shower walls too make cleaning easier!!
Enjoy all your efforts....time away from home with family & friends and enjoying your favorite hobby....HORSES!!!

Nice lq mini. and for the roof, instead of plywood that will hold water, why not a sheet or two of texture 111 that is made for exposure to the elements. ?? also a pressure washer could clean all that goo off real quick. camper

HL I was going to use the plywood just to stand on to power wash the top.. HL4L I use purple power on it. It works well on the black streaks. But this trailer hasn't been thoroughly cleaned since I move it to MO. So it needs a good hand scrubbing. Power washer won't touch it. I tried.. DG here are pics of the inside Don't have any of bath But it's a shower stall and toilet with cabinet over toilet and cabinet and drawers on the side of the shower. The whole rig..

Very nice! We were looking at living quarter trailers when we were at Spruce Meadows. Just dreaming, we could never afford one. One had an actual fireplace in it! It was $100,000.

Holy crap that's pricey!
I've seen a few kicking round in the 45-70 range used but even at that by the time you factor in something to tow it with, it gets pricey:(

Looks very nice Ming...so shiny clean the truck and so clean the LQ.... I know it is only a portion of the whole trailer but it appears very roomy Ming....and more comforts of home than I realized. I can see how you were able to "live in it"....house on wheels..
If they acid wash it do they do the outside too or just the inside? After that is done do you need to put like a sealant on the metal so it doesn't corrode or pit I guess you call that look they can get?

Not sure about the outside since it painted and aluminum sides. I just want the horse area done so it will clean the floor and then I can put down a roll on bed liner stuff to seal it off completely and that way the horse pee won't corrode it anymore. Be a lot easier to clean and will last longer. For the trailer being 11yrs old the horse floor is in great shape. I always pulled everything out of it and gave it a good scrubbing with vinegar and then bleach twice a year. Until I had to live in it and then it was ignored...
The outside will get waxed with a quick detailing wax made by Mequires (sp). The aluminum on the back sides, I will do with aluminum cleaner and a buffer.
But I will ask the truck wash if they can do the outside of it.. If they can get the black off of it...Then they can do the whole thing...

My cousin owned it and before him his best friend bought it new. So I new it was well taken care of. I paid 22k for it and another 42k for the truck. So yes they aren't cheap. I would love to have a bigger trailer maybe a 4h with 10-12 foot LQ. But I can't afford to up grade the truck to pull one. Besides both are paid for and I have one mortgage to pay. Don't need another. Good thing about the LQ is it holds it's value. So I could get most of my money back if I decided to sell it. I can't understand how some people can get these big rigs and can afford to horse camps for weeks...

Ming....spoke to hubby about that acid-washing....
He said the ones he has seen done left a white residue that needed to be cleaned/polished off. He was unsure if what he saw was because the guys were cheap and didn't do a final step or two or if that is the way it is..... Might want to inquire before starting..or be prepared for some clean-up work before that sealant is applied.

My dream retirement is to have a set-up like you and then travel the country riding in national parks and other beautiful places. Up north and to the east in the summer, down south and to the west in the winter.
