Within a couple weeks of bringing the Ziggers back from <ahem> the "trainers" we put her in a corral by herself. She settled down after a couple weeks. Since Gerald has had his hands full plowing/planting, etc., he hasn't worked with her all that much but still, she is back to paying attention. Responding to small cues and doing what she's asked. Before Zagnuts went to the trainer Gerald was giving his grandchildren pony rides and she was just fine. I practiced getting on and off of her and she stood just as calm as you please. I rode her a little bit and she didn't balk and back up, not even once. I have no earthly idea what those folks were so afraid of!? Anyway, happy to report she's still the best trained horse we have. This weekend is a 3 day weekend, so I maybe will have some time to play with her and the other two. If our dog Coda and Gerald himself will allow me to do something other than cater to their needs and wants (I just love that little wiggly guy! He's adorable)

Sounds like Ziggy had their 'number' Dang horses,., they are just too smart sometimes,., Hope you get some 'ride time' in this weekend!

That's great news! I hope you get to have some horsey time this weekend (and maybe Gerald can take some pictures for you to share with us ~ hint, hint, hint!).

Thank you, you guys. Peaches was pretty excited to see me. She came running up to me but stopped in plenty of time, I wasn't worried but Gerald who was holding Ziggy at the corral gate said it looked pretty scary from his angle. She's pretty agile for a short fat girl.
I hadn't realized how windy it was until I saw how spooky Peaches was. Her eyes were as big as saucers. But still and all she was attentive and respectful. Given her big spooks I was surprised.but grateful.
