In our literature we have 5 basic head profiles: a) straight head b) roman head c) arabian head d) pike head e) pig head In english I found this, so I will use this picture, as I don't know if I translated our terms properly. I know some people think this is ugly, but I loveeeeeeee Roman head in horses.

Wow, those are some real roman noses! I have to say that it's not my favourite. My daughter's first pony had an undershot jaw but you couldn't tell by looking at her. Here it's called a monkey mouth. She had to have regular dental work to keep her front teeth down.

I know it is not everyones cup of tea. But I love roman profiles. I really love baroque looking horses, and this profile fits to that kind of horses.

Some of them are real nice, i like the black shows the baroque style, i bet the last one has a great even temperment and will do anything. with that nose and the parrot mouth.
not my cup of tea either but with the body type that makes it less noticeable than i like it too.

Here is a nose for you Lipizzan. At first I didn't really like his nose, but I have to say it has grown on me, and I think he has a beautiful face now. I just wish he could grow a mane. He has enough tail for three horses, but his mane doesn't grow at all.

DG - those sunflowers in the background are beautiful! Are they wild? Of course the horse is very nice too.

Horse is very pretty and his nose is not that "in your face" at all. I would not notice if you did not say.

MM, The flowers in the background are the state flower of Kansas, the wild sunflower. Most farmers consider them weeds. They usually grow everywhere, but they haven't done as well in the exceptional drought. Once we get out from under this drought weather pattern we should once again have ditches full of them. I think they are pretty too.
Lip, I guess when I got Chief I was comparing his face to Stormys face. Stormy is an arab, so there is no comparison. After getting to know the beautiful boy behind the face, I think his face is beautiful now too. It's a manly macho face.

For my taste those "show arabian heads" looks creepy and unnatural. I don't like that. Like this for example...

It's horrible what we humans do to animals to make them into our "perfect designer pets". It should be a crime. Honey wants to have another English Bull Dog. I told him I was not going to support an industry that created a poor dog that can't even breath, so he can have a dog without a nose. I will not buy another one.
You are right. That poor Arab looks like he would have trouble breathing with such a tiny nose. He doesn't look like a happy horse. I think he looks worried.

That arab looks photoshopped to me. I'm not a fan of arab faces unless it is subtle.

I agree with diamond. There are so many breeds of horses, dogs, cats, cattle... That humans created for their own profit and interest. Many of these breeds are subject to diseases and short lives. Have trouble with breeding, gaving birth, breathing... So so many problems, for what? I don't understand humans.
