I just looked at the ad. The nose area looks fairly useless, are there even saddle racks in there? It looks roomier than the trailers I'm thinking of as two-horse straight haul but I don't like that the horses can put their heads over the bar and reach whatever they want. Also, is it all aluminum or aluminum on a steel frame? No saddle racks,.., aluminum over steel. V nose is kind of useless isn't it

Your stock trailer is an amazing condition. It looks like new.
Around here we find that trailers are priced oddly and they really hold their value. I sold my 2012 Circle J for $300 less than I paid for it brand new two years before. What we see are nice trailers that are ten years old selling for almost what they'd be new, around 10 thousand. And then there's a big drop in price of about 4 thousand and the steel stock and stock combo trailers sell for about 6 thousand. Then you get down to the teeny older two-horse and totally rusty stock trailers with zero maintenance and they sell for under 3 thousand. It's really frustrating. Thanks, my trailer really just sits,., only its not covered It probably has under a 1000 miles on it for 10 years old. I don't go far, just up the road a few miles to trail ride. I think I should ask $3500 and take a little less. I haven't fully committed to the other trailer,.., I REALLY want a separate tack area. Just don't want to miss out on a decent deal if it ticks all the items on the list,.., which it doesn't quite do wag finger

hve nothing further to add, but just make sure you can handle the butt bars with one hand and un buckle then and buckle them in a hurry after the horse is tied you need to slip to the rear and get those done fast. if they are tricky and you get the trailer than you might consider changing them to make using them easier.

Red....by me your trailer would have a price on it over $5000 or better!! ** stock trailer is worth more because of the livestock in the area needing to get from place to place easily and in good safe conditions.** SERIOUSLY!!
Your trailer is in fantastic condition and looks the part of a diligent and caring owner having it.
nhg... Most 2-horse straight loads that don't have a underneath tack storage area and mangers are set up where the horse can put there head over the chest bar. On a "square" fron ttrailer there is usally enough room to put a full bale of hay, spare tire if not on the side hanging, a broom and muck fork and some space to hang a spare halter & shank or bridle at least. The front of that trailer red showed is not designed to be used as a tack room or storage area. Just a place for maybe some extra hay. Even that I think is pushing it.
Honestly red... I think I would pass on the other one and keep what you have. It first off is bigger and has more versatility to move things if needed. It affords you great airflow and ventilation. Mid-Atlantic can get hot & steamy if I remember correctly vacation travels in late spring through early fall. It is maintained and in pristine condition. It can be closed up with not much effort for inclement weather by adding some plexiglass panels... BONUS....It is paid for!!

Thanks HL4L,.., and you're right that his trailer is very over priced and pretty basic wag finger I have a feeling it will continue to sit, OR, he will take the other offer of $5500. I thought about trading for newer thru a dealer also,., it is time to start looking to trade up tho, I think, for myself. My trailer is only going to continue to get older and it still has some good value left for trade in, or resale. I personally like the width of my trailer up front, as well, prefer a stock trailer, its just that its steel. I really want to find an aluminum trailer bc of the maintenance 'factor', and the lighter weight. I appreciate all the comments and suggestions, and the input as to others personal preferences. I'm not really super jazzed about that trailer, just found it nearby and am considering the 'opportunity' of it

When you get ready to seriously look and buy...I love to shop and spend someone else money... I'm really good at it and get great deals because I love to haggle price.....
You live in a area where there are so many dealers and manufacturers within a 8 hour drive... or a overnight. That in itself can save you hundreds, or more, if you will pick-up the trailer from a central location or factory and have a local dealer do your warranty maintenance as needed if needed.
Something to think about when that time arrives... Till that time knocks on the door, make a needs list and a wants list.... then start to narrow the field down, look at packaging together or ala-carte... you might find more options at a cheaper price with surprising amenities... 522867

If I were you I'd keep the one I have. The only downside for me is that its a stock, not a stock combo so there's no tack room. Around here it would be worth probably 6000 to 6500.

Agree with NHG, trailers here are so pricey, you should see some of the dangerous pieces of crap going for $2000-3000, actually here you go.....http://www.kijiji.ca/v-pet-accessories/edmonton/2horse-trailer/1005829457?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
I had a 2 horse bumper straight load in e UK, it was a big roomy one, I took the partition out and the big mare I had would always end up sideways or backwards.
LOL!.....http://www.kijiji.ca/v-pets-other-items/edmonton/2-horse-straight-load-horse-trailer/1001358232?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

This would find its way to my house in a hurry............ I however, am not in the market for another trailer at this time.

Thats a nice trailer, especially for that price. I've basically decided against the other trailer,., Its not that much different than what I have and I actually like mine better. I don't think I'm a big fan of the v nose concept,., especially since I'd want a tack area, and that trailer has no tack area, and is less roomy than my current trailer. Plus, he is priced way too high on the trailer Really appreciate the input, and discussion, as it helped me in my decision making process.

Mine is all steel and this one is aluminum/steel and has a dressing/tack area. Funny story,., I know exactly where this trailer came from,.., AND, I'm trying to sell my trailer for more than I paid,.., back to the same guy I bought it from I am almost 100% positive this trailer belonged to the woman I just bought the hay feeder from. She traded to 'another' guy for a bigger trailer, and I did a little detective work. All that being said, this trailer looks to be in excellent condition, altho a 2005. If he would give me $3500 for mine, I'd love to buy this one for $5500-5800. That way, I'm only spending a couple $1000 more,..? SIGH,.., I'll probably hang on to mine cause it does serve its purpose, and as HL4L said before, "Its PAID FOR"

I like it better than the last one because it has a designated tack room but it's still straight load and I'm not a ramp fan. I'm not sure I see the value in it as opposed to yours. My last trailer was aluminum with a steel frame.

I know,.., its really, probably, not my time to buy a new (used ) trailer,.., Just seems like a nicer, lighter weight trailer,., while mine still has good trade value.
