Ugh! The dreaded flea infestation has hit HARD here despite my efforts to keep them at bay. My dogs and cats are going insane! and now they are feeding on me too. I am so ready for winter if it means ending this madness!

Do you use preventative? hmmm I have used Frontline for years, basically year around,.., this summer I noticed a few fleas on my kitty, a few days short of 're apply time' I'm wondering how long before a Frontline loses it's effectiveness on my kitty roar

yes, I've been using the generic frontline products for the past year and I'm going back to the name brand. I've resorted to using a flea comb on the cats between applications as the fleas seem to be attracted to them and they are sick and tired of the baths and the sprays. My kittens hate me the dogs run from me when they see a squirt bottle in my hand. My vacuum is a bagless and I burned that up cleaning daily. My sis is also flea infested. She took her pug to the vet it was so bad. They told her to use frontline plus on the dog and a premise spray called Siphotrol Plus II. She just got it today so I'll see how well it works for her.

I think you need to bomb the entire house and give all the dogs and cats a bath and have them wear flea collars. and than vacuum and in two weeks bomb again. either that or turn up the heat and the fleas until they are ded. thankfully i have not had any but a few and i use the frontline and they are gone.

I use to have them every year in MD. The soil was sandy and they seemed to love the basement. It got so bad I wouldn't go down in the basement. The only way to totally get rid of them is as Horse Lady said. The first bombing will get the adults and the 2nd round to get the eggs that hatch out. We would put a can of bomb in every room and 2 in the basement. It usually took care of it. So far here we haven't had any problems with them. Never have seen any on the dogs. The last time we went to Md. Poor Sweet had them bad so after giving her a good flea bath. No more fleas.. I use the Adams flea shampoo. Pretty good stuff...

I keep tellin' you guys; something to be said for living in Minnesota Coda is allergic to Advantix so we use Frontline Plus because ticks are our main concern. We also use a flea and tick collar, I can't remember the brand but its expensive, like $12, white package.
