Any advice how to wash a saddlepad(all hairs gone) good, without leaving hairs in washing machine?

You're going to leave hair and dirt behind no matter what you do.... I go to a laundromat as they have the larger sized front load machine without a agitator...the agitator is what I found ruins saddle pads. I try my best to never wash mine at home anymore for this reason. Regardless of where that machine is though.. After I wash I use a damp towel and carefully wipe the entire machine out then I run a second load with hot water and ammonia or soap to do a cleaning of the drum of anything I missed. What I do at least....
I know a few that go to a car wash and use the high pressure hose to wash and rinse thick western style pads....
Here in some places it is against health code law to wash any kind of animal bedding in machines used for humans... mini-graphics-smileys-861556

At this time of year it is best to use a light sheet under the pad.. that way the sheet could be washed in the washingmachine.. and the pad kinda stays clean.. these are called half sheets. or quarter sheets.. depending on how long they are.. of course throwing the pad in the washing machine with a low suds soap.. in this country the best thing to use is dishwasher detergent powder.. make them white and no suds.. or i use oxyclean.. not know what kinds of detergents are in croatia.. still find a low suds. if you have to use the machine.. after washing the pads wipe out or run a rinse cycle.

I've been using a bath towel folded in half rather than a true saddle pad for my everyday riding for a while now. They are much easier to wash. You could even wash them in a bucket rather than your washer if your horses are really shedding. Of course with less padding you need to make sure your saddle fits the horse really well or use additional padding in the form of a half pad.

I like to raise the saddle pad from the wither up, so there is no pressure at al, I don't know how I would do that with a towel or a regular sheet. For now, I only wash it in washing machine and then spend quite some time cleaning the inside of the machine. ugh, can't wait for summer, so I just can hose it down and it drys in minutes.
