These are the muck forks i use around the farm. i have had one for 3 years and i use it all year long. the second one is two years old. sure they are pricey compared to the ones you get at tsc and your farm food dealer BUT these i tell you will last.. i used to buy 3-4 of the other ones. or just buy the heads for !7.00 and still have to replace them so browse this website and perhaps give one a try. www.equiteemfg.com

They look nice. I don't think I could use something like this with straw.

Interesting way it is made but my issue is not breaking the tines but the handle "rots" where it attaches. I can buy a wood handle to replace if I can't cut and drill a new hole in my existing pole. Handles are cheap..
The forks I buy cost me about $17.00 - $20.00 complete, less if on sale... Future forks or a "knock-off" brand is what I use for daily scooping. I also have a real 10 tine pitchfork with closely spaced tines for heavier work if needed. I don't "dig" with my manure fork. Would be quite a few completely destroyed & broken forks to make that kind of initial outlay worthwhile... Someone would be answering to me about what they did to destroy that fork!!... wag finger

HL4L.. yes the initial outlay is scary BUT how many of those handles and head have you replaced in a year . two or three? and trust what i say. i threaten to have an employee pay if they break it. and i tell them what it costs. and they do not use it like a shovel to dig. they are almost three years old and i have never had to even use a pliers or screwdriver to tighten or fix.... and even hubby is careful not to abuse it. . only a pooper scooper it is used for.
