Rooster has been going after Molly. Her fault because she thinks they are fun to chase. Well he lit into her. Now if she is near by he stalks her. The other day I had to get after him. He got Molly and stupid Molly just cowered down and he was going to light into her again. I went over and shooed him off and then he thought he was going to get me. Yea right!!!
Well today he went after me after I fed the pigs and was walking past him. I keep an eye on him and he came up and hit me in the leg. Then he tried again. Well he got my size 10 in his chest with a good bit of force. Bruised my foot!! I had my muck shoes on. As he was running away I picked up a good size rock and nailed him. Then later when I fed the horses they all come running because they know JR will share his feed as he slings it. The rooster was down the fence line and as I walked down to feed the other 2 he was in my path. As I got closer he decided it was better to run away. I told him I don't need you for eggs and CJ can use you for trapping. If he goes after the kids he is gone!! After the barn is done we are going to fence them in. I'm tired of keeping the garage closed up and they are getting to be a PITA!!!
Never a dull moment here!! Now I'm dealing with burrs. Sugar's forelock, mane and tail had quit a few so I picked them out. tomorrow if I'm not needed at the barn I will bring them out and give them all a good grooming. Never had a problem with burrs last year. But this year wowsa!!

Yes they can be. When I was a kid we had one and it would always come after me. My dad said I was messing with it. Well one day he flew up and spurred me in the face. Almost got my eye. When that happened he went into the stew pot.

Had a hen get out of her pen and a few free range roosters I had were crowding her. I went catch her and she let out a squawk. One of the roosters charged me and had some wicked spurs. I was barefoot and only had the hen by the feet. I swung her like a bat and sent the rooster flying. She never got out of her pen again after that experience and wasn't hurt. Rooster got his spurs cut shortly after.
