Not having my LQ out by the barn. I took it to the RV place today to have the roof redone. I liked the guy I talked to. I said do you need the key for the LQ door and he whips out a master key and opened it. Then he fixed it so it would shut I would have to hold the handle and close it and let go of the handle. PB blaster is great stuff. Then he climbed up the ladder to the hay rack. I cringed because the roof is so thin. He waltzed right across the roof. Told me it will hold a horse. I said not mine they're to fat!! I did get a replacement plug for the water heater. It is plastic and the head on it was just about stripped. So he had a metal one with a pet cock on it. They will use a rubber based type sealant on it. Better than the old aluminum tape that was used. So I hope they get it done quickly. I miss my Little house on wheels...
The next thing will be the interior getting and over haul. I want a new ceiling. I hate the cloth type material in it Need a few drawers fixed. The sink cabinet area needs help or rebraced as I can see daylight at the top vent, and going to replace the linoleum floor with a laminate wood floor. Replace some wood on the sides of cabinets that have water damage and re place the shower. So I may take it to the guy. Who is highly recommended and is fair on prices. See if I can get an estimate and get it back to new condition. I also want to put new brakes assemblies and possibly add brakes to the other set of axels. Have 4 brakes instead of 2. I know ching ching!! But resale will be better on it if it looks better! May have to refinance it to get it done. But it's worth it to me. It will be the last trailer I will own. It's paid for so it's time to rejuvenate it!!
When I get it back and the weather isn't to nasty. I will take it to the truck wash and get the back end floor acid washed. Also the exterior and in the spring put a spray in bed liner on the floor and then the mats. Then no more worry about urine corroding the floor.
Then it's first camping trip next year will be our all girl ride at the end of March..

Sounds good Ming.
I don't know about prices for those renovations but the brake assemblies come with new shoes on them. We did them on our enclosed car hauler... think the entire assembly w/brakes was around $40 a wheel. We had 15" tires with Dexter axles on that trailer. Took hubby about an hour for each assembly to be changed... Not to terrible a price for that do I see you paying... The interior upgrades....you're on your own, not a clue! ...

I know the brakes are a piece of to do. I can do them myself. But I want to add to the other axel. Which will include adding the wiring to them. That I won't do. It won't be that expensive on the interior parts but the labor may kill me. The guy at the RV place said just to paint the ceiling. That they do that to RV's that owners leave the shades up and the sun fades the carpet etc. He also said that replacing the ceiling is a pita. But my main goal is to get rid of the material. It's a pita to keep clean. Remember when I did clean it how nasty looking it was. I want just a white board type ceiling that can be wiped down to clean. Living on a dirt road doesn't help either.. It will be a process that I may have to do as I can afford to. Shower just looks old and I can deal with that. But ceiling has to be first. I actually want the structure of the trailer done. The safety of my horses is #1.

Ming, I asked my hubby... He said being there are no brakes on the other axles it is actually easier than having to re-hab existing stuff. He said he can do a entire placement of a assembly and add the lines in little more than a hour per wheel....not to bad I think.
Still going to cost, but....
As for your ceiling... You really want "white"? I know you smoke, or use to....
I found this but have no idea of your LQ size... www.jbjconversions.com/id2.html

Thanks HL4L. I have done the addition of brakes on the axel on my first GN. I know it isn't a hard job to do. With the age of the trailer and all the miles it has gone. I'm opting to replace the entire assembly instead of replacing shoes, magnets, springs, etc. I also want self adjusting brakes. As far as the ceiling, white is fine or even a tan. Yes I smoke. Last bad habit I have and I enjoy it. I want something that is easy to keep clean. I scrub the inside of the trailer down twice a year.
My LQ has an 8ft short wall. I found a guy that isn't to far from me that does conversions. That website has nice work but GA is a little to far for me. If I have to do it a step at a time I will or if it isn't to expensive I'll borrow against the trailer. Pay it off in 6-12 months.

I'm going tomorrow to get it!!! It was ready last Thursday. When I called them today they said they had left a message that it was ready. But I never had a message. So somebody messed up. They only charged me 322$ to do it and that is with the materials. So the first thing I will do is climb up the ladder and take a look to make sure they did around the vents , ac unit, and the marker lights.. If they did what I wanted they have a new customer for any trailer issues. I will see what they would charge me to replace the brake assemblies in the spring..

Just got back with my Lil House on Wheels. :DSo nice seeing it sitting it's spot. Took me awhile to get it backed in as I couldn't go out into the yard far enough to get it lined up. Didn't want to get the truck stuck. Ground is still pretty wet. But it's parked!! Now if I could get the damn run in shed done.
