Kricket was our first miniature horse. Kricket was in bad shape when we got him. He was confirmed to be four years old by the vet, 30 inches tall and weighed 99 pounds. Kricket had the longest hair of any horse I have ever seen. The vet said it was due to being under fed. After we put Kricket on the feed program the vet suggested he became colic and we about lost him. He spent three days in the clinic and came home with an IV bag and extra bags. The vet gave him a 50 50 chance of making it. Dixie decided that she wanted to drench him with Gateraid and a local lady suggested we up the mineral by ten times the vet had prescribed. Monday morning Kricket was passing the excrement as he should. He has always had a runny nose and nothing the vet had prescribed has helped. The vet said it has to be an allergy of something and is not bothering him in any other way. So he is here to stay with a runny nose.
The first picture was taken in 2006. The second picture was taken in 2010 after he had grown to almost 34 inches. The third picture was taken in 2011 with his son Pepper at two years.
