You might try having your farrier trim his backs a little more round and dub the toe square, and the shoe should be made to fit the hoof and not the hoof shaped to fit the shoe. he is over reaching and should not be doing that if he were left natural. just a suggestion.

Such lush grass! Of course you live in a rainforest/marine climate; kind of northern tropical LOL I hear that there aren't much for mosquitoes but loads of spiders is that true? Anyway, back to YOUR topic. Yes, your Bilbo is a round little guy with plenty of spunk. Good for the young

He is shod by a certified "natural" farrier. Some horses over reach "naturally". He over reaches barefoot as well and cuts himself up, he was barefoot all winter.
