So I'm changing my name on the forum... No longer theeventingmule... My barn owner told me a couple of months ago that when I moved to Kentucky that I could the mule I free leased, to Kentucky with me, that I could have him. I didn't get anything in writing, she was my friend, I trusted her to keep her word... So a few weeks ago I mentioned something in passing about how when I moved I would keep my clydesdale on stall board, and the mule would be on turnout board cause he hates being in a stall, and she goes "Well we need to talk about you taking him, people love looking at him, hes a great centerpiece for the farm, but you could always come back and visit him." Then we talked and she said that I could take him if I promised to give him a great forever home, which of course I would. Then a couple weeks after that she tells me that I should take this big spotted draft mare to KY with me instead of the mule, and she would sell her to me for $7500... then she tells me that the mule is a family animal and they just can't possibly part with him and that was that... It broke my heard... I'm just going to keep my head down and concentrate on my mare until I move at the end of the summer. My new name on here is DancingFeathers since I plan on doing dressage with my clydesdale in the near future.

I'm sorry to hear about Gus....
But very glad you have Rayna to shower your love on.
Once you move, settle in....if it is meant to be another special life will come your way, on your terms and forever if you so desire. Till then,....shame on the person who reneged on Gus, but still give Gus your love. Keep your heart under wraps from hurting so bad, but Gus doesn't understand what the human who owns him has done...he only knows you are upset.

So sorry to hear about that On the brighter side at least you know where he is and odds are he will be there for ever. One day I'm sure you will be reunited! I'm sure Rayna will enjoy all the extra time and attention though!

You do look happy on the draft. besides sometimes people just do things that hurt, and we learn to move on and grow from that experience. how about another draft. i have one for sale. clyde/tb cross looks more like a clyde. she would love to come south with you.
