Not sure if I explained this at some point but I got Gracie our pony in May. When we got her, I sent her to be a lesson pony where I take lessons so she could continue to work and get some extra miles throughout the summer. At the end of the day it worked out great! I got to see her every Friday when I took my lessons, knew she was being taken care of and all that jazz. Well now that the cold weather is upon us, Gracie is now home!! I moved her home last Friday with my truck and a friends trailer (which is also exciting for me as it was my first time hauling and well I backed that trailer up like a pro by the end!).
Anyways, Gracie fits into my heard at home SO perfectly! We originally had her with Oliver (our 17.2hh appy/shire), did not take little 11hh Gracie long to kick his bum LOL I think Oliver was afraid, it was quite comical. I wanted to introduce her to the heard slowly because I was not sure how my mom's mare would take to having an other mare around. In the morning we found that Oliver escaped from the back field and Genie (my mom's mare) was in with Gracie!! Both where completely calm and eating together (this surprised me!). I then decided to let them both in with the heard since Genie was my only worry and with them already being together I was not concerned with the rest of the heard.
So I opened the gate and allowed everyone to go together. Some of the horses where trying to go see Gracie and this really surprised me. Gracie had her own personal body guard! Genie wouldn't allow any horses near her at all! First day in the field and tiny little Gracie somehow managed to make her way to the top of the heard. It was great
Things have settled now and other horses can get close to her but everyone is nice and acts as if she has been there the whole time
here's some pics!

Pony stall!
Not a very good picture but just to give you an idea of how little Gracie is next to Sheldon
Anyways, I'm excited to get to know Gracie better and to be able to spend more time with her. Even though she was boarded at the stable I take lessons, I often felt as I was on a time crunch and could never really give her the time she deserved after spending a few hours riding/cleaning tack after lessons. Already I've groomed and lunged her a few times which is so much more then I've done with her all summer!
I am one happy girl right now
