This was from this morning for comparison. I see a difference in just a few hours.

Good to hear it's not broken, I'm surprised she didn't tell you to poultice it, maybe it's just a European thing again lol?!

Sorry I've missed all this. I don't get on the computer much on the weekends. I'm so glad Melody is doing better and the vet was able to find out the problem. Keep up the good work.

Good to hear it's not broken, I'm surprised she didn't tell you to poultice it, maybe it's just a European thing again lol?! Would the betadine and sugar be considered a poultice? I have to mix that to a baby poop consistency and pack that on a gauze pad onto the wound and wrap it tightly. I also have to soak it with epsom salts and iodine once a day. What would you guys put in a poultice?

SH, what colour would you call Melody? And what do you think she'll turn out to be or if you think she'll change colour? And what colour are her parents? My daughter wants to breed her palomino mare at some point in the future so we're more interested in colours and what people get from certain crosses than we usually are. We saw a palomino mare advertised for sale the other day and it says she's bred to a blue roan. I can't imagine what they'll get out of her. And my palomino had a bay mom. The guy had four palominos from the same mare/stud combination. If there was dilute in there they all should have been buckskins I think.
Sorry, I just realized that I'm totally sidetracking the subject!

Melody's dam was a chestnut who greyed out. Don't know what Tilley's parents' base coats were because they were all listed as grey on her papers. Melody is a liver chestnut according to the ones who have seen her. She will grey out. She's already showing the signs. Sucks because she's lovely. Her sire was a palomino with palomino parents with a chestnut grandparent and a cremello grandparent on one of the great-grandparent's side. I'm not sure about the other. We've had a couple of cremellos from Ares' sire. Apollo and Ares are brothers and both are palomino and most of their half and full siblings are pali as well.
Melody's leg is looking better and better. Today there was barely even a bump where the abscess is. Fetlock is no longer swollen. She's no longer limping.
Vet recheck on Tuesday! Fingers crossed that she's going to be good to go. She's getting seriously antsy in that stall. I'll get pictures in a bit.

She looks so much better. Now you can relax,,, well except you seem to have traded one filly, with an injured leg, for a head injury for yourself. You need to have some smooth sailing on calm waters, for awhile.

Melody is cleared! Vet said turn her back loose. She's a little tender when she tries to run on that leg but I'm guessing because it's been about 2 weeks since she last ran. Vet checked her movement and all that jazz and said she's good. That's one less worry off my shoulders!
