So for 8 months I've been at hubby to fix a chain link door that a dog chewed, today I decided to do it myself, I found an old piece of chain link, cut it to rough size then went and fixed the hole as best as I could as some of the dogs try to push their head through it, I banned the dog that wrecked it!
It looks ok, nothing fancy but better than his last both he'd job when it first happened, it wasn't easy twisting the wire as I have weak hands but I managed, so then I decided to fix a doggy door that one warped this morning, that was much easier.
Then I noticed I have quite a few lights out so I went to Home Depot bought bulbs hopefuly the right size, on my way out I spied a ladder with a platform reduced to $169 from $549, I couldn't resist, this hopefuly will let me change these myself and come in useful for me for other jobs in the future as I hate standing on normal ladders!
Feeling quite handy, still full of the cold but pacing myself!

That must be going around LD, today I just took down about 75% of a pressure treated wall that has been failing for years. Tired of waiting. Now I'll clean up the area and make a rock garden. (That may take the rest of the summer, but I'll do it)

Yes, I'm now looking at a water thing on side of house that's supposed to be hidden by a nice cedar panel but it's fallen off, been like that for months, I love hammering shit so no doubt I'll be at that next!
Men, who needs em?!

I do everything. Fix gates, fences, dog hauses... I have two brothers and I am the one who my dad always calls when some work need to be done not them. I sure don't need a mane to take care of me, just a man to love me :-D

I'm independent as well. I won't wait for someone to do what I can do myself. My daughter is even more that way. She's a great little mechanic, too.

You know I think I got lazy plus hubby always jokes that I'll hurt myself and to leave it for him, even today I texted him to ask where the long nose pliers were and he's like I'll do it later, well later never comes!
I didn't get my lights done, I started to get a migraine around 2:45pm so had to stop, I'm set up ready to do them in the morning though

This platform ladder is brilliant, it'll be so easy to do stuff like lights, paint ceilings, hang stuff, so glad I bought it, it's coming with me!

Good for you! My neighbor used to wonder how I could live on a farm by myself. I love to do everything myself. Just about the only thing I won't fiddle with too much is electricity. Both of my grandfather's taught me so much of how to do things, other stuff I picked up myself (out of common sense thinking), and the rest...well there is a youtube video for EVERYTHING!!!!

Sometimes it's just easier to do it your self. I can build fences, barns, paint, do wood working, ceramics, and porcelain. I have rebuilt a lawn mower engine. I use to be able to tune up a truck. But that was before it was computerized. I can fix anything on the LQ and stock trailers. I can change the oil and filter, fuel filters and air filters and brakes on my truck now, Change tires. I don't do as much now because of the arthritis. But when I do I give it hell. Just takes me longer now. Starting Monday Tony and I will set some post. So I will run the tractor. But we aren't going to over do it. Once we get the post in, we can then get the wire fence up. But we plan on doing some long awaited riding. At this new place I was told about. So now I'm trying to figure out who I want to take. I really want to take JR to see if he can handle it. (I will talk to the lady that is going to meet us and see how strenuous it is.) If not I'll flip a coin on Reno and Rawhide. But most likely it will be my trusty steed Reno... MM I agree with you on electricity. I'll change a fuse but that is about it. Gas is another thing I don't care to mess with.

Oh yeh, electricity is a scary one, I was good on cars too till they were computerized, never could change a tyre though, think I'll have to learn that!
I can't wait to get a tractor, hubby so too tight to buy one, personally on an acreage I think its a necessity, I'm lucky that I have a few neighbours who are clients that will come and do stuff with their tractors for me if I ask, I just don't like to, plus hubby gets funky jealous if he finds out, even if it's the almost 70 year old guy lol!

I love working on things that he says he will fix and never does. cause i am not strong enough or i will get hurt. (ld your man sounds like mine in so many ways,. type a control).
i am waiting years for a floor in the laundry room. never happens. and yayyy start painting the house inside after 5 years of not smokiing and get away from the yucky smoke walls.
and mini i envy you your ability of doing all that. but i take my vehicles to a mechanic. lol
