His feet will come around with easy trims... as for his age.. wellll just my opinion but he will never see 15 again.. that gains line is way long and his teeth are long also..  perhaps someone else will chime in and guess his age..  

Okay, I am spending too much time on trying to share any article. I google "age horse by teeth", go through several to find the best pics and explanation. l know how to copy/paste. I get the copy part done, come here to paste, but I can't. The word paste is not highlighted and won't click. It's just not happening. HL, if we're talking about the same line, what you are calling a gain's line, I've always heard called a Galvin's Groove. I need to look at those cups things. One thing is how round the bite is, older horse's teeth are more slanted.
From everything I know the Galvin's Grove doesn't mesh with the slant. I'll try to get the pics that show what we need.

I figured out how to get to the teeth to see the cups, keep camera ready and wait for him to bray. Excellent view!
I did get where you can see if there's any slant. Looking at the Missouri paper (thank you horselady!) It will be extra interesting to see the cups, see what that looks like.
At the bottom of the page it references tha Galvin's Groove- first appearing about 10, all the way down about 20.
But, the slant (or lack of) doesn't look anything like the pic of the 21 yr old. I'm thinking more the 8 or 9 yr old.

Hey, older is good with me. I'm just curious after he was advertised, if you want to call it something, as a13.2 hand, young guy. I thought that sounded kinda big, and I was really hoping for something smaller and I like older, being more settled. It just concerns me when people who have run a rescue since, I believe, 2012, can't figure 13.2 (he's between 12 and 12.2) and that he's young. For a donkey, maybe he's a youngish adult, but I wouldn't be saying young. They had aged him by his teeth. It just seems that they should know how to measure and age by now. We're not even going through all the nonsense I went through getting there. Or did I already do a rant/vent?

Bless you for taking this donkey, he looks like he needs all the love, and I am sure he will get it.
