We mentioned this horse earlier and I wanted just to write a little bit about them since I came across with this breed when I was doing some researches about different horse breeds. It one of the best adapting breeds you can find to any climate. As all Azian breeds are, this horse is small but sturdy. The breed was developed in central Azia in the Altai Mountains where the climate is harsh. In general, it's a small sturdy horse with a "compressed" body. Their face is the dish like on a short neck. Averagely is 13,2-13,3, they come in most colors, and sometimes even leopard. This breed is also crossed with many other breeds to get the sturdier horse. In general nice all round little horse, a working horse.

I find it interesting that they have a dish face like the Arabian. I wonder if there is a common ancestor somewhere in there?

I find it interesting that they have a dish face like the Arabian. I wonder if there is a common ancestor somewhere in there? I was wondering something similar, like is the dish face a trait that gives those horses with that trait a competitive advantage to survive? Could it be something about taking in more air? Anyway, as graceful as those warmbloods and TBs are I feel a kinship with other short and round individuals :-)
